This might be the dumbest thing I have ever read on this board.

Did Elton Brand take over GM duties for the Raptors?

Baynes is the clear choice if you want a solid starting unit. Everyone else is stopgap that's a waste of time that risks deteriorating our professionalism. Baynes/Gasol/Boucher is more than adequate. Not sure Marc wants back, though.

All are expirings.

I've had my eye on Dieng for a while. The Raptors' advantage the last two years has been centres who can shoot the 3. Everyone out there. Dieng can actually do that. And Memphis have plenty of young bigs they're trying to develop, including JV of course. So Dieng should be cheap, but it would cost us Norm just because of the huge (17 mill) salary. That's not ideal. I wonder if Masai can get a draft pick coming back too? But beggars can't be choosers.

Aldridge doesn't feel right. I don't see him fitting into our offence.

Yeah, I feel like Dieng would be really good here. Aldridge started taking and making 3s last year.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Try and split MLE and sign Baynes to slight raise $6.1 mil and sign Giles to the rest $3.1 Mil per. With Chris B NN can just go with matchups.
Try to trade S Johnson to a team with a little cap and a future second. Give the rest to RHJ as he can give you SF and PF mins.

RHJ signed with the Spurs. Stanley is the new RHJ.

Baynes 3 point shooting fits our team system. We need 5 shooters on the floor and need to take 3s. The center position is open to 3s more than any other position. Baynes is a starter for this reason. The other guys you mentioned are bench players. Cousins is done.

Can't really disagree with most of what you have said. Basically sifting through the crap at this point.

Dont entirely agree on cousins though... 2 years removed from Achilles injury ...year plus removed from ACL injury so should be physically able to get on a court. Biggest thing for him will be all the rust from not playing much over last couple years but not positive hes "done".

Plus he's going to be on his best behavior to prove himself. Once again low risk high reward move. Lowry spoon feeding him up top 3's and mid range Jays ala serg could be a career resurrecter for this guy. If there's a few things he can still probably do its shoot and rebound.

Would love to add Aldridge to this squad. As someone else mentioned he was taking and making 3s last year.

-experienced player with good IQ
-good all-around offensive game
-nice shooting stroke, can stretch the floor now
-good rebounder, won't be a defensive liability

I could see him fitting in in that Ibaka role. Also on a sidenote, Aldridge would school Ibaka whenever they matched up in games. He's definitely a much more talented offensive player.

You need to bring back Gasol - he is the only way to add something without using an exception. Then you use the exception on Giles and one other big. I think you start to position Boucher as the backup to Pascal. Then you go for improvement, try to sign and trade Powell, Stanley and McCaw for an improvement at SG / SF, say Bogdan ?

Siakam at PF, sign Dedmon to a vet min deal to play center? Or John Henson to vet min deal to play C.

We are in trouble. Remember also if Siakam goes down we have absolutely no depth in the front court.

We could weather injuries last season due to depth which we no longer have.

We just need a Daniel Theis type player that is mobile and can defend on the perimeter, no need to score

Sign Marc. Use MLE on Boogie.

If Marc goes elsewhere split the MLE on Baynes and Giles.

Not sure what facts your asking for. Recovery times on both injuries have been met according to most general knowledge on both injuries.

Achilles tear is obviously the major one that can stop you from ever getting back to pre injury form but ACL tears are fairly common now and surgery good enough where you can back to close to where you were pre injury ( I myself have had ACL repair and was back playing ball after 8 months ... back to where I was after year and a half)...to say he's "done" is just a lazy take.

Hes going to be on NBA roster next year in some form.
