Except he's 7 inches shorter and not as good of a shooter. Come on man.

better defender tho

He’s honestly not though, Robinson isn’t that bad a defender but Forbes is legitimately awful on that end.

You would have to imagine all the added offense means we won't have playoff games where we go 5 straight minutes without a field goal anymore which was a massive issue IMO.

Like the signing but feels like overcorrection.

The Bucks are adopting the Packer Way. Just have to outscore your opponents.

That’s a steal. He was a starter on the Spurs 2019 playoff team. Kept them afloat with Murray out. Started this year too. Flamethrower. Played for Pop as unstaffed guy, so he is a willing defender. He should be our starting SG. DDV can resume his spark plug off the bench role. Augustine, DDV, Conaughton, and Portia is a solid bench. This is a good recovery by the Bucks.

I'd like to think the makeup of this roster means we'll be staggering our starters a lot more so that we don't end up with 5 man bench units where every single player on the court is a terrible defender.

We dont need depth to have the equivalent of a 55 win season. We dont need depth in the playoffs. We dont need depth. Our top 8 will be fine defensively when it matters.

Ideally Donte would be a definitive starting caliber player but if he isn’t then he’ll be the defender off the bench.

I like the idea of getting a ton of shooters since odds are not all of them will go cold in the same game.

this is what i would do... play forbes with the stronger interior defenders and try to flamethrow teams off the court early. bring ddv in as the rested defensive 4th qtr finisher

Anybody else feel like we might take a step back next year?

I like this pickup. Forbes is one of the better guys from deep in the league over the past two years. Giving him Korver's minutes is fine with me because he will be better defensively and similar threat from deep with a little more ability off the dribble. It isn't a home run signing but looking at this FA market no one should have been expecting one.

FWIW, Spurs fans loathed the guy for getting the number of minutes he did. Quality shooter though.

From your perspective, can you elaborate your thoughts?

I Was about to post this exact sentence. Hope I’m wrong. But I’m very underwhelmed with this roster.

We literally have 5 guys who either are or are near the top of best defender at their position. The defense will be fine.
