Gasol makes other around him better that is his benefit. Not what he produces but how he makes others better. That is why Lakers want him, and Raptors want him as well. He is an ideal backup

For sure, especially if we can land some young front court players for him to teach and groom. Gasol just shows you don't need to be an amazing shotblocking leaper to be a defensive anchor, it is all about fundamentals in positioning and maintaining your verticality.
