I said we needed a lot of help from minimum guys. We're getting a lot of help from minimum guys right now. That said since we're capable of getting these signing Connaughton seems worse.

I also still think DJ gets traded.

Give me some defense to close this out. The bench will be crazy from 3 at least.

Seeing it laid out like this, I feel a little bit better.

The only teams I'm truly concerned with being better at this moment in the East are Philly and Brooklyn. Miami isn't better, but they do have the right strategy to beat the Bucks.

Wait, we signed Torrey Craig, too? Huh.

Why is the defense going to be dramatically worse? Holiday is the only PG I thought was a better defender than Bled, and we're swapping ~50 combined minutes of Hill/Wes/Rolo for Augustin/Pat/Portis.

I agree that's a downgrade in bench defense, but it's a big upgrade in bench offense, and I suspect the crunch time D will be a notch better.

I mean this post was before the Craig signing, when our bench was Augustin/Forbes/Portis, which is legitimately awful defensively compared to Hill/Donte/Marvin last year. We’ve lost Wes who was probably our best wing defender. Holiday is a great defender but he’s replacing another great defensive PG.

Even with Craig it's a bench downgrade on defense, but I do think Holiday is a step up from Bled, particularly because he can guard wings. I am legitimately bummed we lost Wes's 1v1 defense, though.

For what Pat brings to the table, yes. But chemistry and continuity are huge. I'd pay extra for good chemistry.

Not worried about bench defense at all, they need shooters/scorers....at the end of games Milwaukee will have plenty of defense, they need bucket makers.

Not sure if we fixed our lack of shot creation in the starting lineup, which Miami took advantage of in the playoffs.

Hoping to see Giannis at C more and closer to the basket rather than at the perimeter. That would help with his shot creation, I believe. Luckily for us, most of the teams in the East actually got weaker while we improved. No longer having Bledsoe to sink our starting lineups will be very nice as well.

Holiday/Augustin
DDV/Forbes
Middleton/Connaughton
Giannis/Craig
Lopez/Portis

Think that's our playoff rotation and maybe shorter depending on the matchups. We will see what Merrill and Nwora bring to the table.

This is a D- offseason. Compare this roster to last year's and tell me what we bought with 3 FRPs, 2 pick swaps, and a dip into the luxury tax.

Craig can guard some 1s, most 2s, all 3s, some 4s. We can put out-

Holiday
Middleton
Craig
Giannis
Lopez

And it's not even a gimmick.

Yeah this is my problem too. The roster is technically better and Giannis may sign the supermax, but you can't convince me that this was the best, most efficient way to get there.

At this point my hot take is that by mid season Giannis is telling the Bucks he is leaving in summer , cause we will suck big time.
You better sign Merrill, Horst you **** **** , ... maybe he can be our hero

Last year was full of all men trying to drag their corpses around and we lack severely on the bench side.

Now we got definitely more offensive solutions coming of the bench which is huge.

I really like this roster overall compared to last year, w are much fresher and younger.

I don't see how a team with Giannis AND Sam Merrill can suck big time.

My hot take is that this is a very solid team and the roster isn't complete yet.

Handing Connaughton that awful contract has basically meant we couldn't get a minimum guy to play the other PF/C spot with Portis and now DJ Wilson is going to be a major bench part... Great.
