Concerned about the depth. Probably wouldn’t matter at all if Bud had the ability to tighten his rotation, but we all know he’s going 11 deep when playoffs come still. Just feel outside our top 4 we are pretty darn weak.

Exactly. We were #1 I believe last year so I think it will be ok to drop to 5

give forbes 80% of matthews minutes and bump ddv the rest. keep the roles the same. forbes/ddv are better chess pieces than matthews and ddv who duplicate too much. if forbes is getting roasted then he gets sat and ddv gets his 30+ minutes. its just not that hard. both these dudes are 5th scoring options unless they unleash but at least forbes can take over games with some runs

Added Torrey Craig for defense. Heck of a bench and I would start Forbes for maximum spacing around Giannis when you consider Lopez had off year shooting and Holiday is a solid but unspectacular shooter also.

Hope we can land Torrey Craig or someone competent on that end, cause you're absolutely right on the bench D. Woof

This aged well. Good call.

This appears to be someone that can make shots. That is something they lacked in the bubble and Raptors series.

Someone compare Forbes and Bogdan using those beautiful advanced stats.

all perspective and system is different. completely different defensive role here.

in his 2nd season he played 80 games 20 minutes per and he was a net wash on the 3rd best defense in the league. the last 2 seasons with a bunch of horrible defenders all putting each others on islands and giving no help is when he suffered.

i feel with the makeup of our roster he'll be fine. its just talking points until we see him. hes had team success on defense in SA too.... id imagine here he can again. we can see. its a one year deal for all intents and purposes. if it works out we can reload him next year

I don’t know. The valuations in his magazine are typically way off.

I like the signing but I'm not sure Forbes even plays every night. Jrue and DJ get the PG minutes. Donte and Conny get the SG minutes (don't give Conny that much money and not play him). Midds and Craig get the SF minutes. He feels much more like an 11th man than a starter.

this is what i would do... play forbes with the stronger interior defenders and try to flamethrow teams off the court early. bring ddv in as the rested defensive 4th qtr finisher

Sure, as long as DDV gets plenty of minutes. The important thing is to give your best players the most minutes and play lineups that maximize each player's talents. It's not so important who starts IMO.

Forbes shot 39% on 6 3pa per game. But it gets better..

Catch and Shoot: 39.5%
Pullup: 40%

Tight 1.1 apg @ 37.9%
Open 3.2 apg @ 39.5%
Wide Open 1.7 apg @ 37.9%

Guy can shoot. Situation doesnt really matter.

Btw Wes was around 36% last season on around 4 per game but a lot of that was anchored by 39 on wide open. 33 on pullups. Offensively Forbes looks better and thats without knowing the rest of his game. Dont have to though because shooting wide open 3s is literally all Wes could do.

Yep. Starting Forbes so he has Giannis and Brook behind him on D and gets the open looks via Giannis’ gravity.

Closing lineup of Jrue/Midds/Giannis/Brook and one of Augustin, DDV, Forbes, Pat whoever is hot or is needed for a certain defensive match up.

Can also do a lot of late game offense/defense subs with that 5th spot using DDV or Pat or Craig for D and Augustin or Forbes for O.

It sounds rational but at this point we're probably gonna start Pat with paying him :banghead:

vtime wrote:That’s a steal. He was a starter on the Spurs 2019 playoff team. Kept them afloat with Murray out. Started this year too. Flamethrower. Played for Pop as unstaffed guy, so he is a willing defender. He should be our starting SG. DDV can resume his spark plug off the bench role. Augustine, DDV, Conaughton, and Portia is a solid bench. This is a good recovery by the Bucks.

Naw his ideal role is 10-15 mins off the bench maybe up his mins when’s hot , but he shouldn’t start
