Knicks refuse to trade for PG or draft one that's also a problem OKC and Pels got so many PGs without giving up much but knocks can only come up with Payton?

i was just talking to the people mad we struck out in free agency. the draft is a different story altogether.

They could have used the 25 on a pg like Flynn or Terry and then use 33 on Quickley and then could have just went youth and rolled with the results.

If they just do the same thing they do every year and play the vets over there young players it just shows they have no plan and simply just struck out in FA. It kinda does show that because they seemd to be serious about Hayward before his contract got out of control.

So I'm not giving them credit for doing notihng they just struck out.

i think so. people seem to be mad at berman, and he is trolling a bit, but i think the plan wasn't to tank. it's what he said it was. from the coach they hired to the players they drafted they were looking to be good soon. they just couldn't make it happen. they're not panicking afterwards but i don't know how much credit you want to give them for that. at this point, it's obvious that what the knicks really need to get good are some guys who are great at drafting. not just in the lottery everywhere. because that's the only way it will happen. walt perrin was supposed to be that. are you telling me that he said obi and a kid from kentucky were the guys he identified as sleepers ? and look, i don't know everything about drafting. maybe those kids will be great. but it looks mighty suspicious.

this honestly concerned me as of draft night. the thing i was looking most forward to was being able to trust whatever perrin decided. doesn't look like his input made it past the post.

look, i know it sucks to watch a horrible team. i'm sick of it too. but was their an alternative that made sense ? nah. payton is the major complaint from me.

I’ve never seen you so positive before we really needed to use the 33rd pick. That was the only really baffling move from the front office. We coulda grabbed any guard there and it would have avoided having to bring Payton back. I think if we end up with one more salary dump for pick situations like getting Ed Davis this off-season will be fine. It stinks no one wanted to take their money but we need the kids to take steps forward to change the Knicks perception. We’ve got all these development coaches, let’s hope they’re worth the money they’re being paid.

Not panicking (though it's not over yet) does deserve credit. It's not the only thing that separates good from bad teams, but it's one of them.

yes. draft younger players instead of win now players. use the 33rd pick. use cap space to get picks. don't sign a bunch of washed up vets like elfrid payton

I truly believe he was brought here for PG depth because Frank or DSJr are going out in a trade.
Still not the person I'd have brought for the depth, but I think that's the why.

Where X just might be Westbrook but it could be someone else

Honestly believe that the plan was to draft Tyrese Maxey with 23 and Quickley later with 38. When Maxey was taken, I think the plan was to trade back to gives us some insurance that we could get Quickley in the 2nd round while also still being able to draft RJ hampton.

But then the Nuggets trade happened and f*cked everything up, so the FO just decided to get their guy and punt 33. Sucks cause now we are trapped with Payton for another year smh.

General statement: got 0 problems getting rid of Randle but to not AT LEAST TRY to raise his value prior to doing so is silly and attaching ANY assets to get rid of him is crazy. Patience is needed and maybe some team will have a need.. maybe none will but you have to try. As you really don't have anything to lose.. Obi WILL get playing time!!! Damn sure ain't going to attaching an asset

Knicks have become trash can of CAA and Kentucky club and then they sugarcoat it by saying flexibility next year is stronger FA but so what nobody good wants to sign here and signing role players isnt going to move the needle. The Knicks refuse to trade for PG and they refuse to tank properly they still think waiting in FA will get them stars.
