If they chose Bazemore over GR3, it’s a really bad mistake.

Let’s see where GR3 signs, and for how much money. If it’s less than what the Warriors had remaining in the MLE (about $3.4M), that’s really bad.

Nice. The “major role” line from Shams made me think this was MLE or DPE. So we’re basically paying a minimum to have Steph’s buddy on the team. I’m cool with that.

I really liked GR3 during his short stint by the Bay. But Bazemore expanded his game after he left the Dubs and at this point is probably a better defender against guards than GR3 is. With Oubre and Wiggins, having someone who can guard 2's and 3's (like Bazemore) is a bigger priority than someone who can only guard 3's like GR3. My concern is his shot; if Bazemore can shoot 3's more like he did in 2018 (39%) than he did in 2019 (32%) or last season (34%), that would be very helpful. Unfortunately 2018 looks like the outlier.

We just applied for it yesterday. Typically it takes several weeks for the league to decide whether to approve it or not since it requires specific NBA-approved doctors to review the case and make a determination.
