Ever watched Giannis play defense?

He’s a 6’7 guy defending PGs and small SGs. Yes, he uses his length to recover

I mean there's more to defense than doing blocks. A guy staying in front of his man and forcing him to pass or sticking to his man through a pick and roll isn't making a youtube compilation though.

He’s seems like an athletic defender who is capable of defensive highlights, but I am a little worried how often offensive players can get their hips passed him in those clips. Now, he’s athletic enough to recover which we didn’t have on the wing last year, but if those players ever get by him, regardless if he can recover, that will still make our defense collapse.

I loved wes’s strength and footwork which I think jammed up players often on the perimeter, helping our team defense significantly.

I’m only reacting off the first few minutes in the video, so I may be wrong.

Bud’s going to love him and use him way more than we’d like; but he, Donte and Jrue are going to wreak havoc on backcourts.

Horst does quite well at sprinkling contributors in to fill out the end of the roster. His senpai lacked such abilities.

Seems like a break glass in case of emergency guy if someone on the other team is going off, toss him out there on them. Putting him out there in non-Giannis lineups is fine because his lack of shooting won’t be as big of a deal.

He’s the 10th man with an actual NBA skill (his defense). That’s basically what you want, right?

This is, both in a vacuum and also in context of our offseason, a great signing. Easy to get on board with this one.

Overseas, he was a very good 3 point shooter - so there is hope. I like the signing at a cheap price.

Love that youtube compilation. The D on isolated Westbrook was impressive. And his trailing off the screen and blocking/challenging the shot from behind fits right in here. I think Bud must teach that?, because the Bucks defend that way all the time. Bledsoe, Patty C, Donte et al all have done that the last couple seasons. We definitely needed a go-to wing defender.
