Like, I'm not asking for the moon here. Delete Wilson, give me the 2027 first, and revert the Pat C deal to 2/8 (which was already a C-). That's at minimum a warm body plus the ability snag a ring chaser right now, not to mention more flexibility over the next couple of years for another George Hill level snag when the opportunity arises.

I don't have to watch Eric Bledsoe play for this team in the playoffs anymore, so helllllllll yes.

Sais as he praises the exact person who brought Eric Bledsoe to the Bucks in the first place. :o

I think that the biggest change here is the consistency you get with Jrue Holiday. Bledsoe would have been an incredible player if someone could have reined in his terrible decision making and playing out of control. Jrue Holiday is a more consistent version of Eric Bledsoe. The difference in this team between when we got 2 stars (or 1 if Middleton was in a funk) and 3 stars (when Bledsoe was on) was incredibly different. It makes a ton of sense that we want to have 3 stars instead of 2.5. Watching Bledsoe was like playing a video game and counting on crit percentage.

Jrue/Augustin/Pat
DDV/Jrue/Forbes
Midds/Craig/Nwora
Giannis/Portis/Craig
Brook/Portis

Defense: Jrue/2 of (DDV,Midds,Craig)/Giannis/Brook
Shooting: Augustin/Forbes/Midds/Giannis/Brook
China: DJ Wilson

This is a better roster than 2020 overall I think. Is it enough better? Eh, I dunno. The biggest loss of the offseason is how we got here. Feels like it should have been more efficient and less future-mortgaging, but let's see what happens.

I like how we rounded out the roster, but can't help be underwhelmed by shooting guard now. Maybe Donte will prove me wrong, but I'm not counting on it.

I definitely think he will improve. Who knows by how much.

Depends on your definition of “hugely”. Is upgrading Bledsoe and Wes to Holiday and DDV? I’m pretty confident saying yes. Is DJ Augustine the perfect replacement for George Hill? I’m pretty confident saying yes. I won’t call him an upgrade but it’s a fair wash. Is replacing Korver Ersan Marvin Wes with Portis Craig Forbes an upgrade to the bench? I’m pretty confident saying yes.

The only 2 real question marks I have now is DDV as a starter and Pat getting a bigger role. 1 definitely has the chance to make us better and the other Id have to reserve judgement based on whether or not Pats bigger role carries into the playoffs.

I’ve seen a lot of outcry over lack of defensive pieces, are we better with Bogdanovich in the starting lineup and DDV in Sacramento? A leap from DDV would likely be a bigger needle mover than Bogdanovich being a 4th option scorer and alternative playmaker in the starting lineup.

All and all I’d say say short answer to your question is yes. This off-season is a tentative A, when Giannis resigns it’s an A+++.

Holiday/DDV/Khris/Giannis/Brook
Forbes/Augustin/Craig/Portis

That 9 man rotation is winning right around 60 games, fighting for #1 overall seed and will be expected in the championship.

It’s 100% hypocritical to suggest you were all in last year for a title and there’s nothing but skepticism now. The 9 we have now is just flat out simply a better constructed roster than any previous season in Giannis’ career. Probably the best since 2001, period. ****, probably better than 2001...

I just had the same thought. 1 less first round pick. Just silly to give that much unless Jrue is better than I think.

DDV is gonna have to really step up now!

Hard to believe it was gonna happen and now he doesn’t feel wanted so don’t feel anymore confident in that happening.

And keep in mind that this is not our playoffs roster most probably. During season contenders always pick up some good veterans (last year Morris brothers in LA teams or Marvin for us). I am sure we will pick some vet before playoffs. Probably at frontcourt where we are kind of short now. And trade is possible as always.

Yeah this roster is going to need a big - especially if we want to guard Embiid in a 7 game series.

The only way all of this isn’t a big fat black eye on the organization is if Donte takes another step and becomes a quasi-star level player. Definitely think it’s possible, but damn the Bucks really make it hard on fans to trust them.

The other moves are fine in a vacuum. (Except that Pat C deal, unless he’s a “Giannis-signing boost”)

Hate the fact that despite all the potential this organization has, that we still somehow find ourselves as the laughingstock of the league more often than not.

A little professionalism would go a long way. Seems like there is always some glitch from plan to execution leading to middling results.

I still want to start Donte, at least to start the year. I do think he's going to end up around .370 or so from 3, with great defense and pretty good offensive versatility. If he's struggling with the 3 ball 15-20 games in, then you can make a move to Forbes if need be.

Who in their right mind would go into the luxury tax for this roster?

I don't think the roster is set yet. If it was, we'd heard that they renounced Frank Mason.

Yeah if he shoots that next season then it will have been a great off-season for us.

As much as everyone(myself included) critisized bleds for his poor play in the POs and his bad 3cpt shooting.
Everyone mans crush DDV looked as bad on his gow to miss layups 101 guide.
He needs to improve that big time and his outside shooting before i let him sniff starting JMO

Updated rotations

Jrue/DJ Aug/Merill
Donte/Forbes/Patty
Midds/Craig/Thanasis
Giannis/Wilson/Nwora
Lopez/Portis/...

2 way - Jalen Adams/Mamadi

I'm confused by Patty's role as Craig and Forbes are better players, he may just continue as an energizer bunny. I moved Merrill to 3rd string PG as he can run the team if required but he's really a SG, he will need Donte or Craig playing next him.

We need another Defensive C if possible.
