What a Bucks thing here, maybe the most Bucks thing ever. A sliver away from solidifying the best starting five in the league. But some combination of incompetence or bad luck leaves us to strike out as dude chooses the Hawks. I’m ready for a break, maybe till the season starts, maybe forever.

Kings need to match this. Keep the trade hopes alive.

Hopefully we get the real story of what happened, eventually.

Oh well. If Giannis doesn’t accept the MAX and we go to the finals I’m sure he’ll stay.

2) All this talk about Bogdan wanting to come to Milwaukee and being friends with Giannis was a bunch of BS

I'm going with #1. Silver was mentored by the master, David Stern. There was way too much smoke about Bogdan coming here, even before the "trade announcement" last Monday night.

And frankly, the penalties for something like this would have broke the Bucks. We can't afford to lose any draft picks in the future, period.

or 3. worst case scenario- Giannis told his buddy bogdan he's not signing the supermax. No worries though, Giannis would never do that to us, right?

I think Amick is plugged into Bogdan’s camp and has gotten solid, albeit slanted (to make themselves look good), info. Bogdan’s history shows that he cares about the money despite lip service, and his agent’s shows that he’s not above screwing teams over.

The deal includes a trade kicker that would make the kings pay if they signed then traded him. It all certainly sounds like a deal that was made to prevent the Bucks from landing him.

If Windhorst's figure of 14.5 starting was right, his contract would've been 4/65.5 from us with 8% raises.

So he made 6.5 million over 4 years.

Now, since we aren't getting Bogdan this offseason, I hope the league fines the Bucks $10 mil so that the Bucks start taking this leaking issue seriously...

Horst teasing how newsworthy the week was going to be — ridiculous unnecessary hubris — combined with the botched leak tells me there isn’t a scenario where the Bucks didn’t screw this up.

Of course others can be to blame in combination. It’s not mutually exclusive, I think all these apply:

1. Woj wanted to one-up KOC and jumped the gun.

2. Other executives freaked out. Hawks were in contention for Bogdan and the King Tamperer Lebron wanted to deny Bucks talent (like LA did with Schroder and Wes).

3. Adam Silver took immediate action to disproportionately penalize the Bucks which caused us to back off. Ridiculous how this happened right after AD’s first championship after being flagrantly recruited over a period of years by the Lakers and Lebron.

4. Bogdan and his agent heard from said execs, realized they might be able to get more money, and wanted to minimize drama from the league office. Also Bogdan’s agent has a history of screwing teams over and knew everyone but the Bucks would prefer they screw over Milwaukee.

I can’t be bothered with this team at the moment. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but this just feels like a big domino of my fandom just fell. Not sure how many were left standing.

Bogi would have been nice but we did a sold job bouncing back. Bucks loose lips didn't help but clearly a number of other forces were working against us as well. Other execs plus agent plus Woj was always going to outweigh anything the Bucks FO could have done. Ultimately I don't think we were going to get Bogi no matter what. If he really wanted to be here he would be here leak or not. It's really that simple

If the Bucks disappoint the Bogdan fiasco will be a central reason why in the media narrative.

But it’s not just one screw up that led us here.

Rather it is a pattern including Pat’s stupid rich deal, the Brogdan decision (which just so happened to help avoid the luxury tax), Horst being hired as a compromise between the owners, the tampering to bring Lasry’s friend Jason Kidd to Milwaukee (and empowering that tool), etc.

You can say woj was just being woj. Other teams got scared, did whatever was in their power to hurt us. It's only natural. Silver was doing his job yet turns a blind eye to bron and rich paul's antics, though this league has long catered to the best player and that being bron. Agents are thinking of themselves and are always trying to get the best deal. Bogdan though strikes me as someone that was always going to take the largest offer. Ugh, just wish we never got involved in the first place.

you know when you play a video game for a long enough time you almost see it and hear it in your mind when not playing it? Thats what this thread is to me.

Is there a reason they don't match? Not sure why they would be okay just losing an asset for nothing, especially with limited avenues to obtain talent.

Still think blaming anyone but the leaker here is dumb. Bogdan would've been a fun addition to the team despite what it meant to our cap/depth.
