Toronto is desperate for front court help and will be even moreso if Gasol leaves. They also have Stanley Johnson making $3.8M to McGee's $4.2M. Johnson played in only 25 games for Toronto last year and further averaged a mere 6.0 minutes in those games.

Trade from Lakers into cap space for second round pick(s). Then trade to Toronto for another second round pick(s).

bigger role means more money. he would probably go back to being a 19ppg scorer like he was before AD got there. his rookie deal is up this upcoming year so he is about to get paid soon.

I woulda definitely taken Austin Rivers over signing Payton again. Pretty sure Rivers can shoot a little bit.
