Makes sense. Probably a bust but worth the flyer and fits a positional need

I like it. Smith is only 21 years old with outstanding athleticism. Already shows good potential as a defender. Nice upside potential overall there.

A nice trade for us as long as no future picks are going to Philly. Still just 21 years old and he will likely compete with Saban Lee for that 3rd string PG spot.

Ehh, not much to see here. Its probable that neither of these guys are long for the league and both have similar contracts.

That said Zhaire has the better chance of actually becoming something, so that makes it a worthwhile trade.

What is a "Tony Bradley"? Have never heard of this player.

Zhaire Smith flashes athleticism, but never really looked like he could actually play basketball at an NBA level. Good flier on an athlete, some upside, but wouldn't get too excited about him.

Interesting move. I'd call it a upgrade.

Another flyer on a young kid with potential and we'll see what we see.

Detroit saves 300K in this deal, still about 800K off from having space to fit in Grant and Plumlee.

Zhaire was actually a very good defender in college. He always guarded the other team’s best player, regardless of position. He’s got unreal athleticism. He still needs development as a shooter, but at 21 on this Pistons team, he’ll get his chance to show something. I like this move, like Jackson. Great reclamation opportunities.

Didn't really look at him much in college because it was the draft we gave up our first rounder for Blake, but its safe to say if he stayed in Philly he would on the path to be out of the league soon. Hopefully he takes this change of scenery as a chance to come in and earn a spot in this league. Even if he is just carving out a spot as a defensive specialist.

Huge win. Kid hasn’t even had a chance and is a worker. Freak allergy about killed him. Stunted his development.

Off season is starting to make sense.

He missed extended time because of a sesame seed allergy. Pretty durable otherwise

Worth the read. Kid has handled some serious adversity since being drafted.

Didn't he also break his foot literally mid air on a rebound in practice or something as well? Im actually surprised that Philly gave up on him after trading Bridges for him, this kid has gotten almost zero op in the league.

This is a nice trade for the Pistons. We get some needed depth at SG, while also getting a young guy with some potential.

I mean, it’s a center for a guard, right?

If nothing else it’s a solid move from a roster balance POV.

I like this. He got no burn in Philly. I thought he was a top 10 talent coming out in that draft. Low risk high reward like Okafor and Jackson. We finally got some DOGS on the team that are balling for their career.
