Zhaire Smith was supposed to be the next big thing according to 76ers fans...........

I remember this fondly. Bridges (who they traded) would have been perfect for them

The couchgm guy wants to move Brown from SG to SF because of Brown's playmaking and handle deficiences so I thought the implication was that the SG would thus have better playmaking ability and handle.

 They traded this kid for Bridges too, who was so happy to get drafted by his hometown team. How many lottery picks has Philly missed on this past decade?

I thought Smith would be better. I really thought he'd be like Smart, i.e a high energy defender that makes winning plays and while he couldn't shoot, would make up for it and be a really good bench role player. I think the injury was just too severe and he's never recovered that physicality and explosion he had before it. Of course there's still time for him to turn it around but he's one of my numerous misses.

I've been afraid to ask this, but: am I correct in thinking that there's no real deadlines here, beyond CHA's desire to not piss Hayward off by dragging this out forever?

I'm beginning to get afraid I'm sitting here waiting for something to happen, when it may not for two weeks.

Danny and MJ settling this S&T thing in the golf course.

Ainge wins, Celtics get LaMelo Ball and the TPE for Hayward.
Jordan wins, Hornets get Semi instead of overpaying Hayward.

currently Jaylen is a stand in the corner and shoot wide open C & S threes and transition scorer only, dependent on others getting him the ball. That's literally what Nesmith and SGs like Redick, Klay, Green excel at too. Typically, the better SGs have that ability but also can initiate the offense and attack defenses off the dribble (Wade, Booker, Kobe, MJ, Beal, Mitchell) unlike Jaylen due to his poor handle. Wait, are homers actually tryin to claim Jaylen doesn't have an atrocious handle that prevents him from doing this? lmao. Is it some slight wanting Jaylen to move to the 3? What a touchy sensitive bunch his defenders are.

I'm not confident Nesmith can do all those extra things but I am confident he can do exactly what Jaylen does in our offense and has the physical profile and athleticism to approximate his defense. So, while my moronic haters like to make it out as if I've said something controversial, it's anything but. That said, I think Nesmith moves without the ball and is a better shooter than Jaylen so he'll be an upgrade in that respect. But I'm not sure he has Jaylen's post up game or transition game nor on the ball defense. But when you lose Hayward you have to plug in players where they can replace that production. I like Smart off the bench. I don't know why suggesting Nesmith, who is an excellent prospect, should start is rustling Jimmies

Just stop, none of this is true. 26% of his threes last year were from the corner, and 24% of his shots were midrange. I don’t even know why I’m responding buy Jaylen has shown he can create for himself, especially from midrange. His handle has gotten much better also and his assist % has gone up. Try using some factual evidence in these poor takes.

Jaylen should play “PF” because he can guard up to 4 and it is simply easier to find a “sg” than a “pf” who has basketball skills. Jaylens strength allows us to do that and settling for the Larry Nances of the world is wasting that advantage.

He already made All-NBA so he got the max max of the maxiest we could max him. This was a no-brainer. Good on you, Jayson. Imagine earning that as a teenager. Deuce is all set!

Brown has definitely improved his handle while creating for himself. I still don't think he's very effective as a primary playmaker. As of right now, I only want him dribbling when he's one on one with a defender he has an edge over and has room cleared out to go get his. Still not a guy I really wanting handling the ball in a primary play option.
