I mean boston could fall off. The 76ers and the nets are made of glass .

Teams pretty definitively better than us:

Bucks
Raptors
Celtics
Pacers
Heat
Sixers
Nets

That's 7 seeds basically locked up unless Giannis is traded. And if you think the Hawks are better than us now, then that's every playoff seed accounted for.

This team needs nothing short of a home run sort of move to avoid a rebuild, and it's looking like we're in the 9th inning.

One odd and bad signing to me was Miami signing their 3rd string center - Meyers Leonard - for reportedly 2 years and just under $20 million - when they're supposedly planning on saving enough cap room next offseason to sign a free agent like Giannis. He can shoot, but other than that - he's not a good player. He might be 4th string, because Olynyk opted in, and they drafted Precious.

Marcus Morris signing for essentially the same rate as did Davis over a four year deal also seems overgenerous to me. He was a good shooter for the part of the year he spent in NY, but whereas Davis has been at least very good every year in the league in that role, Morris tends to fluctuate (he had been at least league average for a few years). That said, he's three years older than Davis and arguably worse at everything, so certainly a contract (and definitely not the last) that makes Bertans' deal look pretty good.

Does anyone actually know how many draft picks OKC has now?

It’s bordering on insane

So first off - Gordon Hayward just signed a four year 120 million dollar deal to play with Charlotte, which like zounds.

Second - because it turns out Tommy can't sign every European - the Nuggets snagged Facundo Campazzo, looks kind of like if Stanley Kubrick played basketball and also rules (I am aware that Campazzo, an Argentinian, is not from Europe, as are most of Washington's "Euros").

Oh man, Denver is going to be obnoxiously fun to watch whenever these two get time together.

I think the Nets are far from a sure thing. I'm not convinced Durant will be back at 100% for the season. If he isn't, Jordan is a year older and Kyrie will bail again. They're okay-ish if they can play their game and don't have to play Kyrie guessing games but that probably eats a chunk of the seaon and Levert isn't exactly an ironman, either. Their team could unravel awful fast. They could easily make the playoffs but are definitely not a lock.

So, the Knicks had a ton of cap space and the biggest signing they've made so far is Alec Burks at 6 mil? What are the odds of Westbrook or Wall going there?

Wall makes a lot more sense than Westbrook if the goal is to develop Barrett, Toppin, Robinson and Knox.

The Hawks signed Bogdanovic, Gallo and Rondo. With the return of Capella that makes them potentially dangerous if they gel well...

No surprise that the Hawks went out & spent $$ -- I imagine Travis Schlenk is under a whole lot of pressure. He was supposed to gonna be a great genius GM when hired 3.5 years ago. Hasn't looked that way so far.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

On top of that I believe their draft pick, Onyeke Okongwu, is going to be a stud.

And he might hardly play because of the talents ahead of him. Poor Bruno Fernando won't see the floor. I wonder if they'll let him go. He had a tough rookie year, but I still think he'll be a solid NBA center. He just needs to be consistent.
