Would you trade Wiseman at this point?

Post#1 » by ILOVEIT » Sun Nov 22, 2020 4:42 pm

I'm not sure I would trade him for any of the obvious options out there....There is a chance he's a once in a decade player so do you trade him for any of these guys? The only player I would trade him for is Giannis at this point.

Beal is tempting. I wouldn’t be mad if they dealt Wiseman to get him....but I would also understand if they chose not to go that route. If Curry said he wanted Beal, I would do it. If not, I’d keep Wiseman.

Harden is super talented but a poor fit here.

The rest of the guys on that list is a no for me. I’m not a big fan of Simmons. Teams with a ball dominant guy that can’t shoot have a ceiling.

Lacob said Wiseman is the best center prospect in a decade. So that tells you how high they are on him.

Bottom line, I’d be pretty surprised if they trade him.

I think he’s good for the modern NBA. He moves well for his size which is expected now that players have to cover more ground on defense. He needs to add strength to play against larger centers. Worst case is he would be an okay center.

I don’t see superstar explosiveness or physical domination from him based on limited samples. Top level I see him as being a B grade center which would be fine. If he becomes a superstar, I would be happy to be wrong.

Wiseman and a 2032 2nd round pick to Cleveland for Isaac Okoro

Other than that, I’ll roll with JW

Wiseman’s a bum. He’s doesn’t fit the modern day center archetype. I’m told the Warriors don’t like him and prefer Deni Avdija my draft love boy crush. So come draft time the Warriors will trade down and take Deni. Because Wiseman is a piece of ish - Connor L.

Given the situation, with Klay hurt, I'd rather keep him and try to develop him for next season. If Klay was healthy it would have made sense to try and trade for an established star like Simmons or Beal and go for the title, but at this point I doubt it would make such a difference.
If I had to choose I'd try to snag Simmons, he's a perfect fit imho.

I wasn’t totally on board with the pick because of his small body of work in college. Now I find myself hoping that that he is the next great big man in the NBA. Love his attitude, he was raised right. Extremely easy to root for. We’re are fortunate to have him and he is fortunate to be a Warrior. Even with Klay out for the year I can’t wait to see the big guy play next year.

I’m still high on Okongwu. I would accept a package from Atl around him and some of their other young guys.

I’d have so much respect for Connor L if he came out and admitted he was wrong and that his info wasn’t trust worthy.

But he’s trying to claim that the front office changed their minds after a workout they attended. To me that’s bs.

Myers and company flew to Oregon to watch him play last year. If they weren’t interested I doubt they go to that game. And I believe Lacob was driving the Wiseman bus, other than myself since 2018z

Him and Wes Goldberg are sticking to that narrative. Once Kerr said they wanted to get bigger and more athletic Wiseman was the obvious choice.

A young, tall, long, athletic, rim-running, shot-blocking center?

Yeah, I'd really prefer to give this a test drive for a while.

Outside of Giannis, I’d prefer we get Simmons, but I probably wouldn’t trade Wiseman right now. Might as well get a look at him next to Steph and Draymond at this point.

Guys like Simmons and Beal would make us better but leave us woefully underpowered and undersized on the front line if Wiseman is being shipped out.

Or it could’ve just been the warriors smokescreening

I don't know if it was smokescreening. Connor and Wes were very against Wiseman and sent out many claims that the FO would never take him or a 7fter like him, that it was either Deni or Haliburton(who both fell btw). I stopped listening to Wes' podcasts after

I also remember when Mylie made a bet with Maestro or was it Mav that the FO wouldn't take Wiseman, dunno if they would come back to fulfill their end of the bet
