Having Lebron doesn’t either...
Why are you giving Pelinka credit?
Lebron runs the Lakers.
While some people here criticized Ainge for not being able to land AD, they didn’t realize what Lebron does behind the scenes.
Lebron controls Klutch on the DL along with Rich Paul. AD is part of Klutch. Celtic fans actually thought there was a chance that AD would play for Boston. There was no chance of that with Lebron and Rich Paul making sure AD went to the Lakers.
Lakers are the top dog now and Lebron is the real reason for that. Pelinka is a puppet. They just landed Montrelz Harrell, another Klutch guy.
Why got Marfieff Morris late last season, another Klutch guy. KCP is also a Klutch guy.
Then maybe we should get in bed w klutch and stop whining like bitches. They aren’t going anywhere. Perhaps TT can be an inroad making progress on that
I feel dirty saying it, but you’re 100% right about Klutch.
They will soon rep the majority of the league. Better off to just accept it now and break bread.

Why? A deal is a deal when it is signed not "when it is agreed to." Deal falls apart all the time, and some time one deal falling apart causes others to as well. Jordan an Co. comes to Hayward and says we took another look at the impact of what we have to do to give you 120 mil and we can only give 4/100.

By my count Celtics have 15 players
Wings:
Walker, Pritchard, Edwards, Teague, Smart, Brown, Langford, Nesmith, Tatum, Green
Bigs:
G Williams, Ojeleye, R Williams, Theis, Thompson
Restricted FA
Waters, Fall
Ainge probably has a few moves left to do and Edwards, Green and Ojeleye are probably not safe

I just remembered this and wanted to address it.
Semi hasn't improved much I'll grant you. But I would point to these two stats:
TS% -- 3P% -- Year
.473 -- .320 -- '17-'18
.531 -- .315 -- '18-'19
.562 -- .378 -- '19'-20
I kind of like both of those trajectories.

No reason Boston would walk away from it. The simplest version - TPE for a 2nd or two - is close to a no-brainer. Have to assume it's in play until CHA officially signs Hayward.
Only reason it wouldn't be is if they choose to cut off their own nose to spite us for some reason, and turn down free 2nds.
I'm going full Danny, but it's really not up to BOS to pony up 2nds. It's about CHA figuring out where they can offload Rozier or Zeller or Batum and save $7M. Depending on the circumstances, if we need to kick in a 2nd to grease that wheel, sure. But, we could also take back a contract, etc. TPE would be great for us. But the true need is CHA not having to stretch Batum.
Well, really... the TRUE need is Gordon to get pen to paper before they come to their senses. But, after that, CHA need is greater than ours.

Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
BOS gives: 2 2nds to NY, 2 2nds to CHA
BOS gets: TPE for Hayward's full salary
NYK gives: Randle
NYK gets: Batum, 2 2nds from BOS
CHA gives: Batum
CHA gets: Hayward (via S&T), 2 2nds from Boston
Swapping Batum for Randle creates the room the Hornets need to sign Hayward without stretching Batum and reducing the cap space they will have next year by $9M because of that. They tried to sign Harrell and Randle is an approximation of that for a year. They can waive/stretch his $4M guarantee next year which would only be $1.3M on the cap vs Batum's $9M. They get 2 2nds from us in addition to not having to pay the cost to NY.
The Knicks take on an extra $8M this year but it's offset partially by losing Randle's $4M guarantee next year. Randle isn't a good player to have as they try to develop young guys. They get 2 2nds for the extra $4M this year and this deal helps their quest for a high pick too.
We get a huge TPE to partially dip into or wait until next year when we aren't hard capped anymore.

Great point about Schwartz.
Love or hate the player, Lebron is an incredible business man who found the perfect way to keep his pulse on the league for the duration. I don’t like it either, but it makes no difference. We need to play nice in the sandbox if we want to make friends.

CHA is getting a sweetheart deal here, imo. They are not having to waive Batum, and saving money by shipping him out, and getting a useful player. I don't think we need to pay them 2 2nds for the privilege.
I get we should give something for that full TPE, but it should all be going to the Knicks. And CHA should have to kick in too.
I'd try one 2nd from us, one from CHA. That's still a steal for them.

Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
Also, I have a bone to pick on the Kanter trade seeing how things look now. What was the point of paying to salary dump him? His salary would be a nice piece to match money in a trade now. And I know Ainge didn't want too many rookies but would it really be that big a deal to have another 1st rounder on the team now instead of Jevonte Green or Carsen Edwards. I don't think that moves the needle as far as making us too young.
It made sense if we were planning to do a Hayward S&T that got us players and had us pushing the tax. But makes no sense in the context of what happened.

Any chance we could get Kidd Gilchrist for the minimum? He’s the vet swing I want most. Good size and was a starter for a long time. Could throw him at Butler, Giannis, Siakim, Simmons to give other guys a break.
