And we apparently got European superstar Nikola Radičević as part of this.

Re: Nuggets got a exemption in our trade
Makes zero sense here. Detroit had the space to sign him outright. So why does Detroit do Denver the solid by doing a S&T so they can get the TPE but Detroit sends cash considerations to Denver? The player is a Greek league scrub and non-entity. Pistons paid for the honor of creating a $9.5M TPE for Denver. Usually teams who lose a player to FA and want a TPE created out of it give up a second rounder or something.
At this point with Weaver though, I guess I just have to be happy he didn't give a future second rounder as part of this S&T.
Weaver is a clown.

Drafted #57 in 2015
In 9 seasons, a career 5.9 PPG on 38.6 FG%, 27.2% 3PT %
This is a nothing burger if there ever was one. But Booth had to look through the couch cushions in his office to find "something" to send Detroit.

Desperate to keep access in dying industry Beatwriters and Minister of Propaganda Keith Langlois will probably indicate that the Europlayer is some legit prospect who could come over soon.

1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Absolutely no reason for Weaver to help the Nuggets like this. I’m sure the beat writers will be quiet about this aspect of the deal because they want to stay in the team’s good graces.

Re: Nuggets got a exemption in our trade
If the Pistons gift the Nuggets a $9.5 million TPE its odd but really doesnt have anything to do with the Pistons. If the cash amount is low it doesnt matter at all.
Nuggets are in the West and are not fighting us for the 1st overall pick, so really it has zero effect on the Pistons.
Maybe as a peace offering for stealing both Grant and Plumlee?
Could the Pistons also do the same thing for Plumlee? Give them around $4 million (its half of their salary if above birds rights?).
What could the Nuggets do with $12million? Do they want DRose? Is it possible to trade them Drose for Plumlee and have it be cap neutral?
My take is: its odd but essentially free to us (other than cash considerations, no idea how much that is). I would prefer a future 2nd rounder but its possible this has some future effect that deal with Plumlee.

When you are in position to get an asset, you do it. Full stop. The rest of your rationalization is speculation. If any of that proves to be true, that changes the take on the deal.
I'm not sure why you're trying to put mustard on **** sandwiches. Let's be real.

You don't send a "peace offering" for signing free agents away. No other GM practices such things. Its business, period.
If this equation was to include Derrick Rose and a Plumlee S&T, why not just send him in the Grant S&T? Detroit would get the same cap savings either way, and Denver wouldn't have the TPE moving forward regardless.

While we appreciate the action, most of the moves Weaver has made have a lot of question marks around them. Like I said, he is either a made genius or the maybe the worst GM we have ever had..
