I am almost certain the deal was killed by Silver, I think someone ****'d up with the leak and the league which it has been getting heat for years for tampering and ran with it so nobody to blame but ourselves. It's a joke we get punished and not the Lakers but that should be expected, once there was smoke about tampering the deal was completely dead probably under the threat of real tampering investigation + punishment from the league.

i think we're set up better to go small with Craig. he looks nasty on d. what's up with portis, does he have any ability on D?

also maybe it's a stretch since he's a rookie, but the pick out of virginia looks good as a shot blocker and has great footwork on D

What did the Bucks front office all F up the last 2 offseasons?

No TPE in Brogdon deal
Bogdan deal confirming with Woj 4 days before allowed
Pat not eligible for a player option cause early bird rights
Picks in Jrue deal, unprotected 2022 first plus a 2nd had to go to Cleveland

Anything else?

Jrue/Donte/Craig/Khris/Giannis switching lineup would be unbelievable defensively and absolutely should be something Bud runs a lot in the RS. Though he probably won’t lol

I think this is the truth. Another facet may be that the league was "threatening an investigation", and thus Bogdan wasn't willing to take the risk that the league would void his deal (post-investigation) and leave him with nowhere to go

What posters seem to disregard is that the problems the Bucks had in the playoffs two years in a row were:
1) not all personnel related

2) were equally based on the offense AND defense

Miami stopped our offense with two horrible perimeter defenders (Robinson and Herro) and Bud ran the same garbage sets with Giannis. Virtually no coaching adjustments were made.

On defense, the Bucks continually ran the same scheme, refusing to do any switching (until it was too late).

While the Bucks have improved their outside shooting, they have diminished their defensive personnel. Portis is one of the worst in the league on defense, the Bucks mercilessly attacked Augustine during the playoffs, and Forbes is a sieve.

So a combination of lesser defenders along with the same system is not a recipe for improvement.

I was thinking through (maybe posted...don't recall) different lineups yesterday, but I hadn't given much thought to playing all three of Donte, Craig, and Midds. I was figuring we'd play 2/3 depending upon what needs are for the situation (i.e. whether we can afford to have Craig playing or not). It's an interesting lineup with crazy defensive potential without wholly sacrificing offense. Hope we give it some run.

Do we still have space left for a mininum contract? Kyle O' Quinn becoming a Buck has always been an inevitability, maybe this is the season it happens.

Well, good thing those 3 won't be on the court together in the playoffs unless we're up 20.

I like Torrey Craig for wing depth but he's firmly in that Solomon Hill category of offensive liability. Not really a guy you wanna be throwing out there in the playoffs if you can help it. Would much prefer Forbes' shot-making ability.

Any two of those three on the court together will be a big problem, unless Bud adjusts, which he never does.

I think there’s some truth to this but not the whole picture. I said 1st thing this was Bogdan getting cold feet about leaving money on the table. I said last Wednesday that we would all know by Friday when Bogdan signed a 4/80 deal with Atlanta. I was 2 days and 12m off. Everyone knows the tampering rules are a joke and there’s loop holes all around it. Did GMs get pissed about the deal when news broke so early? Of course. But simply stating that everything is tentative and we are waiting to be allowed to officially talk to Bogi before it’s confirmed would’ve squashed the tampering BS.

Bogi is a Buck at 4/60 if he wanted to be a Buck at 4/60. It was there and waiting for him. Even tentatively agreed upon apparently. No chance in hell you just drop the entire idea of the trade because of tampering allegations. You would see it through and force the league to make the final decision if it’s truly what all parties involved wanted.

A few things-

It sounds like the Jrue trade is good to go, any reason why it hasn’t been announced by the team yet?

Am I the only one that hopes we see reasonable playing time for Nwora/Merrill/Diakite just to see if we may have struck on one or more of them? I feel like cycling through a few 2nd rounders each year might be an okay way for us to build on potential assets (aslong as we don’t dump them off like Wood or Brogdon, but atleast Brogdon netted us a few picks).

If Pat had a salary increase to use towards a trade, do we think the ship has sailed on that before the season starts or is that something that could still happen?

Anyone else find the Dunc'd on podcast so annoying? I swear those guys do everything and anything to **** on the Bucks.

Justin James to be part of this too.

However, Bjelica shares the same agent as Bogdan. The Bucks might be done with that guy for awhile.

I'd also do Pat and DJ for James and Richaun Holmes.

Then use the last roster spot on Shaq Harrison, because he's better than Forbes and Craig.

I just realized what the Bucks are saving their last roster spot for. They're waiting for the Lakers to drop Kostas QO.

I dropped them when they refused to talk about the Bucks for the first two rounds of the 2019 playoffs. Plus they never say anything particularly insightful, it's just reading off box scores and stat sheets in the dryest and most boring fashion possible
