Lowry ----- McCaw --- Flynn

I guess i'm assuming Davis is a goner.

Techinically Baynes might be in the starting lineup, but I think my "starting 5" there will be the only 5 guys getting true starter minutes.

I'm terrified about the 2nd chance points other teams will get over us which in turn will also tire Siakam out playing the 5 but I doubt thats the plan.

Does anyone know how much money we can offer DeMarcus Cousins, or is there no more money left to be spent.

$2.3 (rest of mle)
or veteran minimum for his age group, which happens to be almost the same range.

Len and Bembry had good chemistry on Atlanta. Len is a monster. Would rather see him foul out guarding Embiid than Baynes.

I guess they asked Bembry, who is better Len or Dedmon? :D I guess Len is younger.

C Baynes ---- Len
F Siakam --- Boucher
F Anunoby - Powell
G VanVleet - Thomas - Bembry
G Lowry ---- McCaw

With a $2.3m MLE still to be used.

Kid Squad:

C Hernandez 24
F Brissett 22
F Johnson 24
G Davis 23 (if kept) / Harris 22 (if signed)
G Flynn 22

Gotta figure they want to use the MLE and that they want Flynn to play (and Davis too, if they keep him).

Maybe they can still turn McCaw+Johnson+MLE(+Davis?) into a good $10m player.

Heck, add in Powell and maybe get a good $20m player.

Haha, looks like it! I honestly didn't watch enough of either to have a strong opinion. I'm just happy we got a capable big body to fill out the roster.

I doubt it. My guess is that they have a good relationship with Giannis, and have confidence that he'll consider it as a good option.

If we strike out on Giannis, we'll have really only missed out on keeping Serge on a longer deal (like 3/30), and maybe getting someone like Christian Wood or Harry Giles on multiyear deals. I'm sure they would have played their hand differently, but those aren't exactly going to alter the future of the franchise.

I think that no matter what, this wasn't the year to go all in. Maybe they end up trading a pick next summer and taking a good player into their space. Or getting a pick for a bad contract.

I bet Masai would love Gobert as a plan B, too.

I agree. I get the perils of having a non-shooting big man signed to a max contract, but at least with Gobert we'd do it with a nice core around him. Assuming we could keep Norm, we'd still be locked into a really nice long term starting lineup:

PG:Fred
SG: Norm
SF: OG
PF: Siakam
C: Gobert

All 5 in their primes, all good defenders, and enough offensive firepower. Obviously, unless Siakam really turns into a dominant scorer, we're lacking that superstar scorer like Kawhi. But that's probably a guaranteed 50 win team for the life of Gobert's contract. If Oladipo heals up and gets back to the old Vic, he's a really good plan C.

That said, if Giannis re-signs and Gobert becomes plan A, I'm not sure it's really worth it to keep the cap space if any good deals come up.

How about a sneaky deal. the only thing we are really missing is a reliable back up guard. How about George Hill.

2 2nds
Dewan Hernandez
McCaw
S Johnson

OKC

for

George Hill
Hamidou Diallo

Hill is a perfect reserve guard and adds another shooting touch.

Lowry/Hill/Flynn
VanVleet/Powell
OG/Thomas
Siakam/Boucher
Baynes/Len

Howard/Nene/
Griffin/M.Leonard/T.Jones

Looking like Lowry will most likely bounce at the end of the year, but not a lot of potential suitors out there. Would you do this?

Lowry + TD II for Iguodala + Olynyk + Robinson

Miami 2021

Lowry
Hero
Butler
Harkless
Bam

Bench - Dragic - Nunn - Leonard - Achiuwa - TD II

Toronto 2021

Vanvleet
Robinson
Anunoby
Siakam
Baynes

Bench - Powell - Boucher - Len - Thomas - Flynn - Bembry

I like this. But the only thing with Hill is that he's another undersized guard. But he's really good defensively so Idk.

I wish the Raptors had done more to acquire an early second rounder to take on of the young bigs there. I believe the average cost was a future 2nd and cash considerations or two future 2nds.

Tillman for 2 seconds would have given us some flexibility imo.

Carey for 2 seconds.

Oturu for 1.

Baynes - Tllman - Len
Siakam - Boucher - Hernandez
OG - Norm - Bembry
FVV - TDIII - Thomas
Lowry - Flynn

I'm pretty surprised we haven't signed Paul Watson (yet).

Probably looking to trade Stanley Johnson first before committing to Watson.

He’s on a two-way still so no need to hurry to do that. Let him prove it in camp first. If we see Flynn sign to rookie deal, Brissett, Harris signed to camp deals, we are likely done. Camp will decide who gets the roster spot and two ways.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I don't think Stanley Johnson will be traded. Considering how terrible he was and that he makes 3.8M, we would have to attach at minimum a 2nd round pick for him. Also he is the Raptors only backup wing that has enough size to defend pf. I think it makes sense to keep him.

I have to admit that Lowry on the Heat would be deadly.

I was thinking maybe McCaw, Stanley and 2nd for Aminu. He’s making about 2 million more so maybe Magic will dig the savings. He has a non-guaranteed in the following year so he lines up.
