What C do we want?
Tyson is pretty washed but played with us yr 1 of Bron
Boogie is still hurt, but some of the guys like him on the team. Can be useful as a starter when Marc sits maybe, can stretch floor a bit
Mahimi?

Absolutely do not want Giannis teaming up with LeBron and AD

I honestly don't know how they would play together but Giannis/AD at the PF/C position would be disgustingly good defensively
Giannis had an ATG RS defensive performance
(Dont have rapm numbers for it but theres a shot its up there any other one we have by +/- metrics)
and AD had an ATG playoff defensive performance
(Like peak garnett tier)
If you put them together teams wont score

I think our center rotation is set personally, same amount of bigs as last year
I want a 3 and D wing, batum would be nice

Pelinkas been incredible at building our roster for offensive and defensive versatility, last year and this year
Atm our only weakness is we dont have many strong wing stoppers, and our shooting could be a bit better maybe.
Marc is a game changing signing since he allows us to be creative off ball as well. Lebron and AD gonna have some crazy moments

Re: The Lebron Thread | 2021 & Offseason
I know Trez's archetype typically has limited utility in the playoffs but I don't subscribe to the notion that his performance in the bubble is a real indicator of his postseason ability. He was noticeably out of shape (lacked athleticism/explosiveness as a result) and was stretched beyond his capabilities by being tasked with guarding one of the few dominant bigs in the league. With the Lakers ecosystem and a full offseason/camp to get back in shape, he could have some value in the playoffs.
He was great offensively in the 2019 series against the Warriors:

LFR said harrell was solid in blitz coverage and just sucked at drop coverages, which is good vs lot of teams
If someone had a comp of his switching defense thatd be interesting

Re: The Lebron Thread | 2021 & Offseason
Boogie to Hou, good signing
They can't go small all the time
But it does seem like they will blow it up or make at least 1 major trade, right?
Or why else did they trade RoCo?
I think the C position is fine, but on the other hand, say Marc was to get hurt for a bit. Our starting C is?
Trez is an undersized bench 5. Kieff is a versatile 4/5, but not vs starting bigs
I wouldn't mind another C in case
Batum makes sense for injury depth I guess

Lakers market and financial advantage is insane. At no point this offseason has the luxury tax been a discussion.

I think we should remember something
In the sense of regular season, montrez harrell was like an extremely deserving winner of 6MOTY and was the clippers 3rd best player
Like the main thing is playoff matchups but hes a legitimately really good player. If hes switchy on D too, he becomes a third guy level player

The funniest part about that situation is the revelation of the Morris twins joint account.
They live together in the same city and share a joint account. Essentially the Clippers payed Marcus while indirectly supplementing Markieff on a minimum contract to the Lakers.
That minimum contract does not look so bad once you put it in the pot with the 64 million Clippers bucks.
Don't believe the hype...

All of Houston's moves have been to save money, that is the only priority. Basketball is a distant second when it comes to these decisions.

Re: The Lebron Thread | 2021 & Offseason
Ibaka was trying to play the Lakers like Kawhi did last season. Props to Pelinka for signing Trez instead of waiting. Hope the Clippers choke again for Ibaka pulling that crap.
Anyway, the offseason was a huge success. On paper, this is LeBron's best team. Assuming LeBron can still play at the same level as last season, I think I prefer the Lakers over the '13 Heat. LeBron is worse now, but even with a healthy Wade, I prefer what AD brings to the table compared to what Wade/Bosh brought. AD just complements LeBron so much better, Lakers' 4-10 are better, and the Lakers aren't weak at center like the Heat were. Hibbert isn't gonna look like the second coming of Hakeem against this frontcourt, that's for sure.

They share bank accounts so the Clippers giving Marcus 64 mil might've made the decision to stay in LA way easier lmao

Re: The Lebron Thread | 2021 & Offseason
Yeah I dunno how “joint” the joint account is. Like if Markieff decides to buy a 10 million dollar house out of that account it’s probably not so joint anymore.
But who knows. It’s cool they have such a close relationship. Hope my boys turn out the same.

Re: The Lebron Thread | 2021 & Offseason
Idk how much I really believe the whole “joint bank account” thing, but before this latest contract Markieff had actually made a couple more million in his career than Marcus. It’s hilarious that the Clippers are paying so much more for Marcus though when he arguably isn’t much better. Markieff can probably give ~90% of what his brother gives while being way cheaper and less of a loose cannon.
