Tragic. There are so many other players we're going to miss-out on now. Absolutely tragic.

More soberly, there is no downside here, imo, except for JC and his agent.

That is, if the deal goes through, there's no reason to not get a JC extension done.

If it doesn't, then that just means we need to hold off on signing JC so we can retain the ~$20M in space for next off-season... in fact, with that in our pocket, plus the fact that Snell will come off the books, that's a huge chunk of change to go after someone else we value highly.

They need to drop the 48 hours terminology because unless you sign at midnight the incumbent team gets the remaining hours until midnight plus 48 hours after that. They can just say 2 full business days. Or they could say contracts signed on the weekend can be matched until Wednesday.

1) Wasn't aware that there's actually any reason for concern on the physical part.

2) Should it concern me that it doesn't appear that there's not just a majority but a strong majority of Kings fans who are persuaded he's worth $18/yr? Or are they really just that persuaded that they can't trade Heild? Dunno.
