Teams coming off a short week are actually doing better than teams coming off their bye this year.

Prediction is the Pack beat a (5-5) Bears team next Sunday night at home (a Chicago team with the worst trio/quartet of QBs in the NFL), the Pack gets to 8-3, and the "real" fans again declare the Pack is a serious SB contender and conveniently forget today ever happened.

Defense sucks and the offense isn’t elite enough to make up for it despite plenty of opportunities to do so. Same **** different year.

If anything I'd flip it. Plenty of chances for the d to make stops but they quite literally cannot get off the field.

Said it plenty of times before but there's too much talent on this defense for them to be this bad, and this Bears offense is as inept as NFL offenses get. They don't come to play in this one, then stick a fork in Pettine. They better have his walking papers ready.

Packers -8.5
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Unless the defense has a substantial performance turnaround, starting this week, I'd guess Pettine is gone the morning after the last game.

Gute should be a tad nervous too, with a real mixed history of roster moves (draft, FA, and trades). He's not terrible, but he's not remarkable either. However, I don't see Gute being in trouble till Murphy steps down, and I'm not sold on either guy.

Murphy is 65. Harlan was 70 when he announced he was retiring (he stayed longer due to the botched hiring of Jones as his replacement). Hard to say how long Murphy will stay on. I think he's done a better job on the business side than on the football side.

Oh to be sure Murphy should get a ton of credit on the business and civic side. And to cut him some slack on the team management side, he's got a unique role in the NFL - he's not the owner, but he's the avatar of an owner for NFL leadership purposes. Still on the team management side, he's got Gute, Ball, and LaFleur on roughly the same plane, with Pettine riding in the sidecar next to LaFleur. Odd setup

I think the Packers have an official age limit on the role (70 maybe?) so Murphy's time is coming soon.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Yes I believe it's 70 and they allowed Harlan to stay longer while they sorted out the Jones hiring.

FWIW, Looking at the Bears depth chart, there is no third QB listed.

Tyler Bray is their third QB. He came in for the final drive against the Vikings after Foles went out.
