If I'm John Horts - and tbqh I am not - I offer Giannis the "max" (maximum) contract. Giannis deserves it and if nothing else, it brings stability to the Bucks. Worth rolling the dice.imo

If it's not too much trouble can I get you go back into that intricate role play as Hortsy and give us all your thoughts towards offering Giannis a player option on this hypothetical contract?

1. He is a poor FT shooter. This is a huge problem.
2. He’s not a three level scorer, he’s a one level scorer. Less of a problem if not for #1, but still a big issue. He’s just not a real threat to can jumper after jumper.
3. He’s not a quick/good decision maker with the ball, nor does he make accurate passes.
These limitations have killed us in elimination series the past two year, alas he just tries to force action he doesn’t have the ability to make. Part of that is him having to get better (especially #1), but most of that’s on coaching. This is where Bogdan would have bred so great. He has that stuff in spades, plus the clutch gene with legit game winner propers. As is, it’ll now probably be Jrue. Middleton, for all his talents, doesn’t seem to have the mindset for it.
Disagree with the first part. I think his slow decisions have more to do with the fact that he's so used to driving to the rim that when he's not able to do that, he doesn't know what to do. I think he's naturally a smart player, but is still learning what to do in certain situations. He can improve his decision making by playing more pass first.

If you were Horst, you would offer him a 1-year deal with 4 player options.

2017 Raptors and 2018 Celtics he was the best player on the court by far and we still lost. Is he to blame for those series?

Best to keep options open. That's what makes America the United States. Would be hypocritical to be both pro-choice and anti-option. If the man wants to play, let him play save for when play-time inches above the half-hour mark. If 30 minutes was good enough for "Night Court," it's good enough for the Greek "Freak."imo

This pretty much nails the reality of the United States though

I think getting Giannis to stay for as many years as possible is the best option.

Again, I am not Horts, but if I was, one question would remain foreskin in my mind and that is, "What can brown do for you?" I can tell you waht Fedex did for me: severe carpal tunnel in my wrists and a trailer I'm still making payments on. I'd offer Giannis what I wish was offered to me: three squares, daylight hours and a healthy enough salary that I didn't have to choose between pants or a night at Dave and Buster's. Like Donte Ellis, he can have all of it.imo

That's who they were before Mike. We can only hope Giannis stays as loyal as Jordan was

The funny thing is that there's people that believe this nonsense.

This is why I always say it'd be a better organization if one of us ran it. You just know someone in the org is stalking this thread and will do exactly this now.

Giannis is not going to Miami. He's going somewhere else...and I think it will be announced in a big trade this week.

Lol Jordan stayed on the same team and kept trying over and over again even after every playoff failing until he finally won the championship at age 28. Then he won 5 more, a lot of them when he was past his peak, and didn't go running looking for superteams any time the going got tough.
GOAT. Period.
Man had the GOAT coach and emerging Pippen by his 6th season and had them for the entirety of his 90s run along with other talented guys like Grant and later Rodman, Kukoc, Harper, etc. They literally won 55 games and were a game away from the conference finals without him lmao.
Spare me this "going got tough" stuff, it's easy to stick around when you have awesome teams around you and don't play for a dumpster fire organization with guys like Mo Will and Delonte as your core teammates and Mike Brown as coach.
What about the fact that he stayed with the Bulls even when him their core was past their peak? In the 98 season, he was age 35. Pippen was 32 and played through an injury in the playoffs, Rodman was 37 and close to being washed. Kerr was 32. Yeah they had Kukoc but they lost a lot of their other role players from earlier championship.
On the other hand, Wade starts his decline and they lose to the Spurs in the finals and Lebron bounces to Cleveland where Irving is coming up and forces management to trade for Love.
Then Irving leaves Cleveland and Love is significantly worse than before, so Lebron goes to the Lakers with the intention of teaming up with AD, pretty much openly tampering to get a top 5 player.

So I concur that Miami doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Giannis. But... I'm not feeling that Giannis is going to say yes or no right now, and - frankly that's Milwaukee's fault - because he has no way of knowing if Jrue's returning. If everyone here put themselves in Giannis' shoes, why would you say yes before Jrue says yes?
Sure sounds like Jrue wanted to sign here so I REALLY hope for all we gave up we got a verbal from him
A verbal ok is what we supposedly got from Bogdan's agent. How did that work out? Remember, he's going to have a TON of leverage. I seriously doubt they have any kind of agreement that's good enough to depend on.
Unfortunately we don't even know if we got that Bogdan verbal. That said, if we did get a verbal from Jrue, I would feel confident of it sticking. 1. We are probably going to pay him a stupid amount for an aging guard 2. There's only been two reported verbal agreements backed out of in the past ten years and I think they both involved bogdans agent. It's pretty toxic for an agent to do that and is very rare.

Hey dipshit, we didn't just trade a bunch of unprotected picks just to trade the MVP a week later.
