Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Sacramento wants to get out of Hield's contract. They just drafted Halliburton and Fox's max contract kicks in next season, so no they cannot pay Bogdan. This trade solves their problem, but if you're right and Hield has positive value on his contract (he doesn't), OKC has more than enough picks to make the Kings whole.

Wow you guys are barking up the wrong tree. Love? Wasn't Haywards contract bad enough?
Let me insert some sanity....
Rozier for Myles Turner. Pacers have a lot of tradable assets. Focus there for a while and stop this craziness.

Hey you asked man if it was feasible, I didn't think so.
To be fair Hield averages 20 ppg and the last 4 years he has shot 39.4%,42.7%, 43.1% and 42.8% from three which is one of most valuable skills in the league. He is about to enter his prime season turning 28 in a few weeks and he makes on average about 21 million a season over next 4 years, contract is descending.
Seems like a lot of this board think a players value severely drops just because of talent on their team, if that was the case drafting BPA would be a horrible strategy.

Three team deal
Charlotte gets: Hayward and Theis (I know you love him but Capela, Thompson and Timelord make him pretty redundant)
Charlotte out: Zeller and 2nd
Atlanta gets: Zeller, Langford or Grant Williams, 2nd rounder from Charlotte
Atlanta out: Capela
Boston gets: Capela
Boston out: Theis, Langford/Williams (Hayward is gone regardless)

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I don't see BOS trading for another C after the Thompson signing. I think Theis is about as good as Capela for what Boston does offensively/defensively.
I think more likely than not we end up stretching Batum and getting a 2nd by creating a TPE for Boston. I don't like that outcome but jusy seems to be where things are heading. Mitch notoriously not tampering really hurts when you have to jump through lots of hoops to sign someone without the needed cap. If he had tampered we could have set something up and not had to stretch Batum.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Stretching Batum should result in Mitch getting fired. Paying Hayward effectively $39 million for the first 3 years would be terrible management.
We should be getting draft picks for Batum before the trade deadline. Not bloody stretching him for 3 years.

The only acceptable outcomes are either not having to stretch Batum or getting at least a mid/late FRP this or next year from Boston so we have at least another player on a 4 year cost-controlled contract to compensate for the 3 years of $9M dead cap we will have to manage.
Anything less than this is disastrous management and probably will be anyway in the long term regardless.

Yeah. It's a bummer but no way we are getting a 1st for the TPE.
I'd personally be fine with that Drummond deal but I view it more as an expiring for Rozier. I don't think it quite gets us enough for Hayward.

This is actually solid and I don't even like Drummond.

I'm not sure, but it might be enough depending on how low we can put Hayward's first year salary in a back loaded contract. If not, it probably would be enough if we also sent out the 2nd Martin. I was really hoping to cut enough salary to front load Haywards contract, but we could do a lot worse than this deal.

I'd be so on board for this. We've targeted him before if I recall correctly. He'd fix a lot of our issues down low and would upgrade our interior offense AND defense immensely. If that's what also makes the money work for the Hayward/Batum stretch situation, then I think we HAVE to go for it if it's an option...
Look, we're committing to winning now, clearly. The two second round picks being included would be unfortunate due to how well Kupchak's been doing with those, but we have a lot of promising young players now. Picking up a Center of the caliber of an Andre Drummond would force the rest of the league to look at our roster and take us seriously. I'd be pumped.

If we swap Cody out and add Batum in, then add Dante Exum in from Cleveland it gets us enough space to add the Hayward contract. Exum is on a $9 million expiring, so maybe we can flip him for a better piece. If not, he's gone after one year.
Hornets receive: Drummond and Exum
Cavaliers receive: Batum, Rozier, LAC 2021 2nd, BKN 2021 2nd

Dante Exum has an Australian and a North Carolina connection. It would be cool to have him in Charlotte.

Stop making up trades that will never happen. The Cavs are not trading Drummond. And why would they add another guard? Do some research before you post.

Cleveland is a dumpster fire, they definitely aren't putting together a winning lineup this season. Rozier is more of a future asset than Drummond and there's a couple 2nds included(one more than Cleveland actually paid).

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
We only have 3 2nd round picks in the next four drafts, so I'd be hesitant to move two of them for a Drummond rental.
