Riley tells Bam , you get the deal next year we just want to have the chance to use the capspace first .

Bam going to risk an injury and securing 160 million just because he like Riley?

What injury would stop him getting a max deal though? He would have to die basically

Tell that to DeMarcus Cousins or Isiah Thomas.

Persuasive examples I think.

Even non basketball injuries like blood clots and enlarged Organs are a risk. You put in the work. You secure that type of money anyway possible.

Credit for Riley for not dragging it out.

This deal got better for ATL, and that is saying something. I am shocked Gallo gave them an opt-out after 2 years.

The most advantageous thing for the Heat would have been for Bam to wait until next year, so why couldn't Riley make it happen?

The most disadvantageous would be Bam demanding a trade to a team that going to give him a max extension . Riley avoided that and still have a path to max Giannis.

Or signing a 3 year offer elsewhere, forcing Miami to match, and getting to unrestricted free agency earlier.

Giannis supposedly wanted Bogdan over Jrue. The two players have reportedly formed a friendship. This does bring two questions to the forefront.

Could the Hawks with Trae Young be wild cards if Giannis does not sign the max extension?

What would Milwaukee be willing to give up to get Brogdan?

Giannis at center for the Hawks is actually pretty intriguing. Now I don't think Bogdan is really swinging that decision, but why not dream big?

Milwaukee is hard capped, so a deal is tough. Would have to be like:
D.J. Augustin $6.6M
Pat Connaughton $4.9M
D.J. Wilson $4.5M
Donte DiVincenzo $3M

Why would that happen though?

Riley tells Bam , you get the deal next year we just want to have the chance to use the capspace first .

What happens if Bam gets serious injured before getting paid? Does Riley still max him out?

Will they have the cap space to offer Giannis a ax contract next off season?

I agree its probably the longest of a long shots. Giannis and his brother clearly likes Bogdan though if this reporting is true. I am confident DD and filler will not pry Bogdan away.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo stayed in regular contact with Bogdan Bogdanovic over the past few months, sources tell Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

They spoke numbers times over the phone and during a few calls Giannis communicated his desire to become teammates with Bogdanovic.

Aside from the obvious spacing Bogdanovic's shooting would provide Milwaukee's offense, Giannis admired his fellow European's toughness and swagger, sources said. He viewed Bogdanovic as someone you could go to war with in the postseason.

Thinking out loud. If teams have the cap to sign him outright, the Bucks could prefer a SNT to Atlanta which could net some great assets. Giannis would have to agree of course.

Well, Barnes

Is paying Batum 9 million a year in stretch better than an actual player for 3 years?

Barnes

$22,215,909 $20,284,091 $18,352,273

Subtract the 9 million stretch hit from each of those seasons?

That doesn’t clear enough for Charlotte to sign Hayward though. Would still have to stretch waive guys or dump someone else.

How much more cap do they need?

I believe $7-9m, depending on the specifics. This kind of swap only clears about $5m or so, with Hayward's first year likely being around $27.2m, and growing from there.
