That Lasry might’ve been bragging about BB on a league call is just mind blowing. What a **** idiot.

Re: ATL - Kings don’t match Bogdan contract - now a Hawk
What's confusing to me is that one source indicates that Bledsoe not being involved in the trade anymore put us too close to the apron to offer a competitive salary to BB. While another says that the deal was a non-starter after the league threatened to investigate.
So which is it? Can't be both. If we can confirm that it was financially possible to get to 4/72 or anywhere close then it has to be a threat from the league that nixed it... that would be really hard to swallow.

The Fischer article also says that it leaked to the Media Monday night while Lasry's supposed bragging came on Tuesday and multiple people on the meeting had no recollection of anything out of the ordinary being said. Seems to still be a whole bunch of speculation, but it does make it sound more like the deal died because of the leak.

No his comparison is actually Luka Doncic

I think he's most like Kennard. But generally he was just a constant threat, on ball or off ball, no matter where he was on the floor. His all around skill level and decision making is near flawless. I have very little doubt he'll be able to get his shots in the NBA. What I doubt is whether he'll be able to physically hang with anybody on the other end.
Duncan Robinson was a horrific college defender and Merrill was not, but Robinson's advantage is that he's 6-8, so the Heat put him through the ringer to get him playable defensively and it worked out. The analog for Merrill might be diet and Suki, get every ounce of athletic performance out of that frame. We'll see. I wish there was Summer League because I have no doubt he'd have been great in that setting.

To be clear I was just messing around. Someone here or on Brewhoop had mentioned how he’s similar to Luka. I will say the way they cross their legs when shooting off the dribble is very similar, but I’d tend to agree with you, he’s more just an old rookie that knows how to get to his shot in any situation and he’s more comfortable with the ball in his hands than people tend to think. Idk why that’s surprising honestly, he operated as basically his team’s PG.
Anywho, I like all 3 of our rookies for once. Nwora wouldn’t have been my pick but I can see why they’d be interested in him.

Putting a link out to the Fischer article on the Bogdan thing. It is a good read.

I am shell shocked after reading that. It sounds like the Giannis supermax was in the bag if they didn't f*ck this up and they f*cked it up.

The money shot is that it was Marc that pissed people off and brought the league in. I'm assuming Alex did the deal confirm to Woj the night earlier, but who knows. Maybe Marc is the one texting him.

But the Kings insisted on guard DiVincenzo being included in any deal, just as the Pacers did in the talks regarding Oladipo, according to sources.
Guy must suck.

Whether or not a player is valued in a trade isn't really a barometer of how much said player does or doesn't suck. I don't think anyone has ever denied that DDV has potential.

DJ is from Sacramento, Ersan lives in Mequon with the family.
Had to have been Donte and girlfriend searching for a home in Sacramento. And if we're at that point, it certainly tells you a deal was agreed on in some form quite early.
ETA: A point being hinted to on all these stories is that we promised Bogdan $18 million a year, but after the Jrue trade didn't realize we couldn't do that anymore. That angle would line up with the Pat mess.

If Bogdan wanted to be a Buck, couldn’t he have just made that happen?
Plan was iron out the trade and then when FA opened get the signing part done. Dude signed a sheet elsewhere.

Re: ATL - Kings don’t match Bogdan contract - now a Hawk
And during the board of governors' call on Tuesday, several league sources indicated that Bucks governor Marc Lasry stopped just short of bragging about Milwaukee's impressive Monday evening of transactions. However, multiple league personnel participating on the call said they did not remember any Bucks official gloating or any noted behavior or conversation out of the ordinary.
I get that we wanted this to happen and need to blame the owners/front office as much as possible, but this paragraph basically says, "he didn't really brag and most people didn't notice anything, but still..."

Your a answer is stupid, of course it reflects on the player, the fact 2 teams wanted Donte as the central figure and the Bucks valued him so highly tells you just how good he is. If Giannis gets over this and signs the extension, the Bucks sheer incompetence might actually prove to be a benefit, in this 1 particular case.

Eh, I read it liked the Bucks prioritized Jrue and Bogdan used the leak as cover to change his mind. Lots of manufactured player-movement drama, imo.
Honestly if Giannis bolts because they lost out on one ok player then he wasn't going to stick around anyway.

Jesus f***ing Christ. All these idiots had to do was stay out of their own way and keep their mouths shut. Bogdan would have been the perfect addition to this team. Arguably the best starting 5 in the NBA. What a colossal f*** up.

I'll say it again, for the millionth time, this organization doesn't deserve Giannis. If he leaves, I hope a huge chunk of the fan base does too. I know I'll be purchasing NBA League Pass for the first time in my life.

Absolutely agree bogdan could of still came here could of signed for 17 instead of 18 if he really wanted to play for the bucks.I dont blame the FO at all they offered him 17 million a year and apparantly playing with giannis was all BS cause he chose the hawks for 18 million
