They still have like 4 roster spots open and already have 4-5 guys 22 and younger who figure to play this year.

Do we have that many spots open? To my knowledge the current roster is:

Fox/Joseph/Guy
Hield/Haliburton/Ramsey
Barnes/Jeffries/Woodard
Bagley/Bjelica/Parker
Holmes/Whiteside

If Metu ends up making the roster I think that would be the full squad.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how good Whiteside is. Insanely great deal for the Kings.

Have not signed any of the draft picks yet, that’s why have been reported as 9 players signed before Whiteside deal.

Maybe waiting to see how early the two-way contracts start for 2nd rounders and try sign Ramsey to that.

I'm shocked Hassan couldn't at least get a BAE deal from someone. I get that his impact on the floor isn't quite what one would hope for, but he can still get you 20/20 on any given night as a starter. Dude puts up numbers and wasn't a problem in the lockerroom, so not really sure why his value was THIS low, but great deal by the Kings.

I thought Ramsey and Woodard are going to end up as 2 way guys. We also still have Justin James? Wasn't Guy on a 2-way contract? We could easily cut ties with him.

I think right now its

Fox/Joseph
Hield/Haliburton/James
Barnes/Jefferies
Bagley/Bjelica/Parker
Holmes/Whiteside

And were waiting to see what happens with Guy, Woodard, Ramsey

Yeah, I totally forgot about Justin James too. I think one of Woodard or Ramsey gets a roster spot, probably Woodard if I had to guess while Guy and Ramsey get the two-way deals.

Monte might have some jedi mind tricks of his own. Minimum? MINIMUM??? Whiteside is what he is but Vlade would've given this dude full mid level.

Based on the roster composition, id agree. That still leaves us with 2 spots though. Am I crazy for hoping we have a Skal re-union and then save 1 spot for a trade/promoting Ramsey if he looks great.

As for Justin James, I actually want to see the kid get some minutes. I was pleasantly surprised with him last year. Hes got good size and is athletic as hell. I know i'm in the minority but after seeing how the team ended up, I want to see

Fox (34) Haliburton (14)
Buddy (30) Haliburton (14) James (4)
Barnes (30) Woodard (12) James (6)
Bagley (28) Bjelica (20)
Holmes (28) Whiteside (20)

Id rather give Woodard/James minutes over Joseph/Jefferies tbh. And i'm kinda excited to see Haliburton with a lob man in Whiteside, and a stretch 4 in Bjelica.

Is it confirmed that Hasan got the min? If so this is a huge steal. I have to think he will be your starter by the end of the season, he’s better than Holmes.

Whiteside can put up dead stats sometimes but he’s a 15/15 guy easily with 30 minutes. He gets rebounds like crazy but just don’t play him at pf he’s a liability there defensively. But all things said if you guys got him for the min this is an insane steal considering the production he can bring

Yes it was confirmed by most of our local guys that it was a one year vet minimum deal. I wasn't on board with bringing Whiteside in but at that value it's not bad at all considering we signed Kaminsky for the vet minimum too.

Blazers fans have said Whiteside has been a pro and didn’t impact the locker room negatively in Portland.

I hope this trend continues in Sacramento.

Both Whiteside and now Frank are vets that can provide experience at a very cheap price.

These are great deals for players that are pretty productive when they are on the court.

With these moves, I don’t think McNair wants to completely bottom out the Kings just yet. I’m sure he will deal the remaining vets by the deadline. The Kings team can’t out tank the teams in the east but they are still going to be bad nonetheless.

Love the Kaminski signing. He can play next to any of other bigs. I look forward to Monte dealing Belly too. Clear the way for Marvin.

Holmes was really good for Sac. Hassan can put up the numbers and block shots but defensively Holmes is much better suited for the modern game. I think Whiteside will basically take over Lens role. There's a good mix in the front court but Walton can't keep up the bad habit of tinkering lineups every game based on what he feels the needs at the time are. Find your best 5, roll the ball out, and play.

He's running his plan to perfection so far. He didn't want to commit to anything quite yet other than Fox and he's done that. Vlade's biggest fault was finding similar players that maybe had perceived value higher than some others but he paid an insane premium in the process. These signings are a little abnormal in terms of value but you can always find something not much worse for a whole lot cheaper.

Yeah, what KF10 said is right. Any talk of Hassan being a lockerroom problem is nonsense. At the very least, it never showed in Portland for the short - weird (2020) - stint that he had here. Good kid and I'm really pulling for him. I hope he beasts for you guys.
