He got a MonStar head.

He really does look like hes in tremendous shape compared to his college season.

Looks tiny compared to himself in college. Hope it doesn't effect his ability to bully in the post

Ditto! I much preferred Tillman, but Carey does have that immeasurable 'likability' thing going for him (in addition to some skills and an obvious work ethic). Fanhood has officially crept in.

Carey Jr. was 6th in his class heading into college. He fell to 32.

Now he's a lean mean fighting machine. The skills are still there but he's got increased mobility and athleticism.

This feels like a Devonte' Graham pick.

4 year deal. Nice. Locked down long term. I think he'll play a big role for us.

I believe you can only offer a 3 year deal to second round picks and use the MLE so this means his deal is going to be signed using some of the cap space we have left.

Damn. Awesome! He will have a better career than multiple players selected in the lottery. Compare him to Jalen Smith who went 10 and how do you explain it?

Mitch obviously already loves the kid. Too bad there isn't a summer league

I like this a lot. After seeing a few of his interviews and hearing his approach to the game, I think VCJ can be a solid 5 on this team. We will probably only see flashes this year, but I could see him entrenched as the starter to begin next season.

I'm really interested to see how Carey works out. Seems like Duke primarily used him as a low post workhorse, curious how much more there is to his game than that. Using cap space on him and giving him a 4 year deal is another roll of the dice, hope he's a baller.

The Heat seemed like they were locked in on Carey. I was surprised they drafted Achiuwa instead. I guess they decided to bet on their developmental staff and went with the better athlete.

I think Carey is going to surprise people with how skilled he is. He can do a bit of everything.

If Carey does work out, not saying he will. Getting him on a 4 year deal is huge because it keeps his original contract super cheap for the longest possible time. But also since he is a second round pick his Cap Hold when he does go to get paid will be similar to Devonte (2 Million) which gives the team a crazy amount of flexibility in free agency when the time comes.

Even if he doesn't end up great, having a backup center on a cheap deal is valuable. It is why Willy still got paid and guys like Khem Birch and Marquiss Chriss still have jobs. The depth at this position across the league is abysmal.
