Not everybody gets what they want.

And yet some of us do!!!

The reason we have such a putrid point differential is mostly due to Monk, Miles, Bacon. Some of this boards favorite players.

I don't think anyone on the forum thinks Monk or Miles are actually good players right now. People want to keep them around because they are young and talented enough to try to develop.

You compared LaMelo Ball to Luka Doncic, so I don't really think you can criticize anyone for overrating young players.

Speaking of mental gymnastics.... the only comparison I made was that they both played professional ball. Vague insults are trash.

He said I compared LaMelo to Luka without providing any context, then criticized me for it. When my only comparison was that they both played professional ball.

It was an attempt to make me look foolish without providing any context. Do you understand now or do I need to dumb it down more?

fwiw I think we will be bad and I don't like Miles, Monk, or Bacon.

Anyways, to get things back on track. Would people do a Bridges for Reddish swap?

People can express whatever opinion they want about the team. I was more referring to the back and forth stuff that was getting personal, not necessary.

Proposed on the trade board. Hayward for Wiggins + Wiseman. Hornets extend the rebuild.

Back to reality...

Thoughts on a Monk and Richaun Holmes swap? Charlotte would need to add more value I think, but it would allow each team to take a flyer on expiring deals.

Does the Vernon Carey deal nix any idea of a big man trade?

I'd be more interested in Bridges for either Jackson Hayes or Goga.

The Carey contract nixes a deal for a big man on Holmes' tier. Our targets are Turner, maybe Jarett Allen, maybe Collins, maybe Drummond, a rung or two above Holmes.

Would consider Bagley for Monk though.

Are we sure Turner is good? He seems like a good video game player, but his advanced stats are kinda meh

1.0 VORP
Only had 31 dunks last season- super low for a center. 42% of the total shots he took were outside the three point line. I think a rim running center would be a better fit with our current pieces, Turner and PJ provide very similar offense.

Compared to Cody with 63 Dunks. Cody also had better per 36 numbers.

I know most of us think Cody is an overpay at 15 million, how would we feel about Turner at 18 million?

Turner shares the floor with Sabonis. He's playing out of position at power forward so they use him to stretch the floor. The dunks go more to Sabonis.

Are we sure Turner doesn't have strong defense stats?

I was looking over league rosters and noticed that most teams only have one decent big. There are only a handful of teams with quality big depth. If a big goes down from an injury, expiring guys like Zeller will have some value.

Mitch seems allergic to trading players for value though, so I have low expectations.

I think Zeller, Monk and Rozier all could be moved this year and net us something decent in return.

I definitely feel that Zeller and one of Rozier/Graham get moved by the deadline, and Bridges before Monk now that GH is here.

Monk has too much potential and what if the switch finally goes fully on this year? He doesn't turn 23 until February and has all the tools to be a really good SG in this league. Some guys just take longer to adapt to the transition from college and I'm really, really hoping this is the case for him.

We aren't going to pay both Graham and Monk with Rozier on the roster. Someone has to go before the deadline. I think it will be Monk unfortunately because I doubt our ability to move Rozier for value (unless the Knicks save us).

Regardless I think our best trade packages are either Zeller + Monk or Rozier + Bridges. I'd prefer to make the latter available, but the former likely has more value throughout the league.
