i can also see his apg go up closer to 6 if randle is moved, and he and toppin are given 32+ MPG. hell, if quickley finds himself playing a lot of minutes (i predict he will), they'll be even closer to 6.

I think the criticism he received last season and people calling it a terrible rookie season was unjust and hopefully added that extra drive to his preparation for this season. What we know is if he has space to operate, he can get to the basket at will and knows how to use his body to draw fouls and finish strong. He can't come in this season shooting in the low 60s from the line. I expect a jump into the 70-75% range which will increase his ppg numbers by 1-3 extra points. The next improvement I expect is getting his 3 point percentage up to around 36-38% by taking shorter 3s from the corners where he is more consistent. This jump would net him an extra 3-6 points per game. I can easily see RJ averaging 19-25 ppg if there is better spacing and guys that can knock down the open shot around him.

Final prediction: 21 ppg 7 rpg 5 apg 1.5 spg 46 fg% 73ft% 37 3pt%

Well... I already declared RJ a bust after 2 SL games. Seeing how we won't have SL games... I'm calling Obi a bust now. Might as well get it out of the way now. Both picks have set this franchise back years!!

People are really sleeping on RJ. I expect him to have a great season. Biggest reason his numbers went up was cause we traded Morris who alongside Randle, turned RJ into a third option with awkward spacing. Unless we start Toppin at SF, RJ is going to be at worst a second option and most likely our first option for next year.

RJ was bullying small forward's like PJ Tucker at 19. Now he has had 9 months to work on his game/size.

I expect around 21/6/4 with about 7 FTA a game at 70% FT%

I like RJ a lot. I see similarities between his game and Wade's. I expect just over 18 points a game, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. I think he will become the primary ball handler. Get Randle out of here and his scoring could jump to well over 20.

So the difference with RJ and those other guys you posted stat lines for is that RJ is already taking 13 FGA per game, where most of them didn't have that type of volume in their rookie year. If he brings up his FT% from 61% to 70% and then brings his 3P% from 32% to 35%, that alone would bring him up in scoring. Add a couple more trips to the FT line, or an extra make or two from the field and I think we're looking at a 17-19ppg scorer.

a) If he's going to try to bully people at the 2 or 3 he has to shoot 75% from the line or he's gonna have a pretty meaningless career.

b) Given he's got average NBA athleticism and first step he's got to shoot 35-40% from 3 and develop a pump fake game.

c) If he's going to be an offense initiator I'd like to see him run high screen roll (assuming he can do B and actually get people to switch or try to go over) and be able to go all the way right sometimes. Or maybe get the right, spin back left style moves that can get him fouled or get a short jumper.

Thibs is going to do wonders for this kid. 18/6/4 with 35% from 3 and 70% from the line.

If you want to throw out random stat lines...

17/6/4 on 44/33/68 splits. His shot is busted, it's going to take more than one offseason to see a marked improvement.

His efficiency will depend largely on coaching and situation, and we know his situation still isn't great but at least his coach received a considerable upgrade. Thibs really needs to give him more playmaking opportunities.

The 3 biggest numbers i'll be looking for improvement in are his fg% around the rim, 3 pt %, and free throw. I'm not worried about the rest of his game this year. The volume numbers will look good again as nobody really came to take the ball out of his hands and I think he got an upgrade in the Center position going from Taj to Noel spelling Mitch.

Even if he jumps 2-3% in FG% and 3pt% and 5-10% in FT% he's going to look much more useful and valuable because of what his position is. He'll start to look more and more like a young Derozan with better defense which is what I always hoped he'd turn out to be.

I'm going to say 17.5/6.0/3.5 on 43/34/68 splits. Not exactly efficient but if that's the kind of improvement he can make in his 2nd year, then I think he would be primed for a BIG 3rd year breakout which would be perfect timing with another lottery pick coming in and Mitch needing to get paid.

Better defender and facilitator. More reliable jump shot. Needs to hit his free throws. If he continues to grow and put on muscle he'll probably play more 3 for us. Assuming we don't try to run the offense through Randle, I think 19 ppg, 5 rpg and 3 apg is reasonable.

Surround the kid with players that can hit a jump shot. It’s as simple as that.

I would really like to see that FT% get up to 75+ because it'll be good sign that his touch and mechanics are really improving. I have no doubt that RJ is busting his ass this offseason so I'm also looking forward (no pun intended) to see what he brings to the table this year. And, yeah, I think he's a 3 but whatever.
