Training camp's coming right up. And/but dang, when you look at the list of free agents still unsigned, sure seems like some recognizable names ought to be coming to ATL to make an impression.

It's just been tweeted by a reliable source that Thon Maker has signed as a TC addition in CLE.

That's strange to me. Would have thought if he wasn't on someone's 15-man, he's at least have found a 2-Way option somewhere. Still seeing a lot of openings, though maybe this list hasn't been updated over the holiday(?): https://www.ridiculousupside.com/2020/11/25/21721003/2020-21-nba-two-way-and-exhibit-10-tracker-gleague-bates-diop-adams-hinson-matthews-gillespie

If more Thon Maker situations emerge, wonder if Schlenk would backtrack any on his assertion last week that he feels the current roster will be the opening night roster. With Solo's contract not being guaranteed, it would seem there's at least one slot that conceivably could be contested if say, a Rondae Hollis-Jefferson or equivalent was invited to camp.

Dang.

This is funny, and borderline hilarious... OKC's current roster count per HoopsRumors.

So, just learned from a reviewing the Hoops Rumors post that POR is the only roster that lacks a full complement of 15 commitments--and they're on record saying they're not going to fill their 15th due to salary spreadsheet concern, so they're done.

So then, it now will take some team reneging on a standing agreement of some kind in order for several players who many observers consider legitimate NBA bench guys to get an NBA gig for 2020-21.

(Among those are my current pet cats, Shaq Harrison and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who I've proposed would represent upgrades at the end of our bench.)

That doesn't mean it's impossible or even necessarily unlikely that many of those players could still get signed to a 15-man roster, but it would mean that someone who is on a partial guaranteed contract or, like Solo, on one that is not at all guaranteed, would be let go.
