I hope that's from a prior year Halloween party.

He had just uploaded it. I doubt it.

I owe hands an apology, it was indeed always Abe on the contract. However, Ernie should have built-in some protections for the org and he did not. After this injury debacle/contract, teams began to insert more injury protection clauses and options.

I absolutely disagree. You don't let a top 10 player in his prime walk unless you know for sure he's never going to get back to his former form. The counterfactual to "Arenas got hurt and it was a mistake to resign him" is "Arenas is allowed to leave, get healthy and makes us regret it for the next 10 years" - aka, Drew Brees. The problem was organizational - they were totally unable to manage Arenas's recovery properly because the org was amateur hour.

Didn't see K.C. Jones noted elsewhere on the Wizards board (sorry if I missed it), and it's not a perfect fit here, since he was neither a former Wizard or a former player, but he did coach the Bullets to a 155-91 record in 1973-76, including an NBA Finals appearance in 1975. RIP coach Jones.

I came across a blurb on Sam Dekker in this Ringer article:

The Ringer wrote:In the NBA, Dekker’s missing ingredient was a consistent 3-point shot. He averaged 29 percent from 3 as a reserve forward with the Rockets, Clippers, Cavaliers, and Wizards. In Russia, he finished the year as one of his team’s top scorers, but still shot around 30 percent from beyond the arc. When COVID cut the season short, he returned to the States. He said his agent talked to a few teams about possibly joining them for the NBA bubble, but then the league declared overseas players ineligible.

His preferred destination is still the NBA, but Dekker chose to go abroad to get back there. “I don’t see myself as a G League player,” he said. “Nothing against guys in the G League … but I wanted the challenge of the high international competition.”

This season, he moved across the Black Sea to play for Türk Telekom of the Turkish Super League. His 3-point accuracy has surged to 48 percent, though in Europe, the 3-point line is 19 inches closer than the NBA line. Regardless of his current stats, Dekker knows any future NBA opportunities will require a different role than the one he’s gotten used to internationally. “What team in the NBA doesn’t have their scorers?” he said. “A lot of teams are looking to see if you can hit a corner 3 or defend four positions.”

If that improvement in shooting is real, he could be a legit NBA role player. His defense and rebounding are solid.
