These reports make sense. First Bucks had a deal with Sacramento for Bogdan and reassured him that he will get his money. I guess Bledsoe was not involved in this and neither Hill could too. It was always Bogdan for DDV, Wilson and RoLo (which made him opt out, but Ersan was there as Plan B).
Then going for Jrue too became a possibility and getting him out of Ainge's hands was a bonus to prioritize him. Bucks pulled this off feeling confident that they had a deal with Bogdan. But they made a mistake including Hill instead of Wilson in the trade with New Orleans. Bogdan wouldn't like that suddenly he would become the 4th option and on top of that Hill who recruited him was now gone. Too many bad feelings there and probably less understanding from Bogdan to join the Bucks and make a discount.
Horst just misused his sources. It should have been Bledsoe + Wilson + picks for Jrue. And then DDV + Ersan + Connaughton for Bogdan. Money could work and Bucks would end up with this:
1. Middleton....33
2. Giannis.......27,5
3. Jrue...........26,2
4. Bogdan.......16 (4y/69mil)
5. Brook.........12,7
6. Hill............9,6
7. Thanasis.....1,7
8. Merrill........0,9
9. Nwora........0,9
- 6 spotsX0,9...5,4
- dead money...5 (Leuer, Sanders)
- total...........138,9 (hard cap)
That would be an awesome Jrue/Bogdan/Midds/Giannis/Brook starting 5 with Hill as 6th surrounded maybe with the worst depth in NBA history. Thanasis/Merrill/Nwora and probably some more undrafted rookies. But this could be fixed. With Bogdan on contract Bucks could split Hill afterwards in pieces. Or just keep two spots open and wait for the buyout market for cheap help. Literally every vet would want to join the Bucks since he would be immediately the 7th best player in a championship team.
