But he "can't create for himself"...
He's going to create early space for others, and save a bunch of busted up possessions. Between him and Rubio I hope not to see any more wasted head scratcher possessions.

What's the goal? If it's to become a middling playoff team, I don't mind Detroit's moves. But for longterm upside and surrounding your stars with complementary talent? I'll take our roster any day.

As I get older I keep running into instances later now where I do something I tried doing years ago or come back to a place I was at years ago and this later second time around seems to come so much more naturally. Even if it didn't go so well the first time, it just seems like something stuck from the first time and coming back to it after a period of time just seems so much better. I'm not sure if I'm making sense with this, but I think Ricky's going to come back at a level we've never seen and maybe he's never seen yet.
I fully get what you're saying.

I do as well. The issue here for Rubio was always the lack of a winning culture and cohesiveness. Changing coaches, changing systems, changing star players, just a revolving door of ineptitude. Now, he has the opportunity to do what he does best, what he learned playing for the Spain national team. Be that glue guy that does it all for the team, in whatever capacity needed. I’m expecting him to be impactful in a way that will be surprising to us all.

My guess at the depth chart and rotation minutes with Beasley suspended:
Rubio (30)/Russell (18)
Russell (16)/Okogie(26)/Edwards(6)
Culver(26)/Edwards(16)/Layman(6)
Hernangomez(20)/Layman(16)/RHJ(12)
Towns (34)/Davis (14)
When Beasley is back:
Rubio (30)/Russell (18)
Russell (16)/Beasley (28)/Okogie(4)
Culver(20)/Edwards(16)/Okogie(12)
Hernangomez(20)/Layman(16)/RHJ(12)
Towns (34)/Davis (14)
They won't go past 10 most nights...will the 10 change...absolutely, but pretty rare unless injury or fouls dictate something that coaches go past 10 on a given night?KGdaBom wrote:wolves_89 wrote:With Beasley likely facing a suspension, I'm now leaning towards Rubio being in the starting lineup.

No Vanderbilt? I bet he plays.
No Naz? I bet he plays. Hopefully J Mc plays also.

He's just barely 19 though. I expect him to come through, but wow.

It comes with the territory. Number 1 overall carries a lot of weight.

Not even Zion played 25 minutes. Almost 28.
