Re: 2021 NBA Draft
Trayce Jackson-Davis should be a top 20 guy, just needs to bring that FT% above 70%, there is a lot of room to grow there if he can start expanding his range more

I've actually been left quite disappointed from the game I've seen from him this season. I still don't know what he'd really bring to the table in the NBA, and what role he can effectively fill that isn't a role off the bench.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
Draftroom's mock moved Evan back up to 3, Suggs at 4, Ziaire leapfrogged former teammate Brandon Boston and took 5th, and Kuminga dropped to 8th right behind Jalen Johnson

I really don't see what all the fuss is over Boston or Williams. I'm not seeing anything that makes them lottery talents. It's still early though

Its the flashes, that's it. I don't particularly have faith in Boston at all. For someone who is supposed to be a scorer it doesnt look like he can score. He doesnt really handle as much as I thought he would, he just has one or two moves that look really good once a game. But you don't see him taking guys off the dribble and scoring on them without ball movement or a screen. He also just looks like he's mentally all-over the place and those kind of players end up being erratic scorers anyway. Someone will pass him the ball and he doesnt pay attention to what is going on. He also needs to learn where he needs to be and maybe that'll come with time, but there are times he is in the completely wrong place or rotates late. On top of all that he isn't a good defender. He doesn't get in a good stance at all. His body language in general in terms of getting low on defense or when handling the ball is pretty bad. Maybe when he strengthens his core he can improve those parts of his game and when he gets pushed to add that stuff to his game, but I'm not seeing much from him right now.
Williams can really shoot. But he has so much he needs to learn and figure out. He needs to play basketball as much as he can. His handle is never going to be great, but you have to get to the rim anyway. Maybe that's Stanford's fault for not running cuts for him. But he has such a small frame and small hands that I'm not even sure if he can finish well around the basket. As a shooter I've never seen more confidence in a freshman, but he needs to expand his game. I do think he has a pretty solid feel for the game that can be unleashed when he starts playing a more diverse game.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
I just watched the Stanford/Indiana game and holy **** does Stanford have a terrible defense. Trayce Jackson-Davis wasn't even that good, he was just smart enough to take advantage of that terrible defense. He did have one great dunk though. Not only can Stanford not defend offensive movement, they have no bigs. Guys just kept passing him the ball in the paint.
Lol at the end they started doubling him and it made their defense worse.

Alright it’s Jalen Suggs time...

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
Suggs ability to move intelligently without the ball is really impressive. I also like how he attacks the boards. If Gonzaga wins it all and he performs well, I could see him going #1.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
Hope Suggs is ok. There isn't a scarier place for a player to be holding his leg.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
suggs not going to lr immediately says something positive imo, but he is headed there now so...
but if its not serious he loses some stock imo for that reaction so he is probably out for the season which
will not make it to the end anyway given the covid problem about to blow it up

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
Suggs just tore his Achilles. Going down non-contact while holding your achilles is tell tell sign of a rupture.
We have so many high profiles tears over the past few years having the exact same reaction over and over.
Unfortunately, this tanks his stock, top 5 into second round at this point. Millions of guaranteed money lost, potentially hundreds of million in career earnings lost, life changing event for the young man and his family.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
I used to be a fan of Nembhard his first two years. I kind of forgot about him. Looks like he developed a lot over the last year or so.
