Westbrook will make $41.4MM and $44.2MM over the next two seasons with a player option in 2022/23 for $47.1MM. Wall is due $41.3MM and $44.3MM in the next two years, followed by a $47.4MM player option.

Big upgrade for Washington, but under stable for Houston. Does a Harden trade follow?

Not sure why. Both contracts are terrible over the next 3 years. Basically the exact same contract left over the next 3 years with only a few hundred thousands difference.

I thought Walls contract was longer. My bad.

Shams had a tweet, form lotto protected down to top 8 over 3 or 4 years, the 2 seconds. Should
end up a mid first.

Def worth it for Wiz. Unlike Harden, Beal is willing to play off ball. Better fit for Russ, who p, even in serious decline, should be much better than post injury, no defense Wall.

With that, seems like a good trade for the Wiz unless Ball is actually healthy, but that seems so unlikely.

I've kind of thought Morey purposefully screwed the Rockets with that Westbrook/Paul trade because he knew he'd be gone the next year.

Trade makes sense for both sides provided the Rockets are rebuilding/trading Harden. If not, this deal makes no sense for them because Wall will not help them for the remainder of his contract imo. Nets gotta be feeling good with their Harden offer because it doesn't seem like many teams are offering trades for Harden.

Trade right now is like the ultimate nothing sandwich, lets see what they do with Harden.

Beal and Russ is a horrendous duo. I can see Beal now sitting in that corner while Russ takes those stupid bombs.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Wall signed a 4 year extension so it evens up with Westbrooks’ 5 year since he signed it a year earlier.

Well, barre a total surprise-recovery from Wall, I don't see how WAS doesn't "win" this trade. WTF is HOU thinking? To me this is as bad as the CP3 trade that put them in this hole to begin with.

Westbrook is gonna put the Wizards in the Eastern playoffs. Wall is a $140m injury hazard.

I've seen enough of the Russ to think this won't end well for Washington. It sucks for both teams right now.

Russ actually plays. I think this gets Wash into the playoffs. Probably makes Beal want out though.

What is Houston thinking? They have a short window. Unless Wall is healthy, this makes no sense.

You know people say that but he did defer to PG.

I'm not saying it's great. But Russ plays and has talent. If he stays in check a bit, it's a win. If not, it's blowing up and Beal will want out.

What is healthy look like for Wall? He relied on elite athleticism and has an knee and Achelies injury and hasn't played NBA ball in 2 years. He was never a shooter or overly skilled. I think he's the next Rose. He will likely have soft tissue injuries throughout the year.

The Westbrook deal wasn't a Morey move. Morey coveted CP3. That was his move. Westbrook was what the owner and Harden wanted. His hand was forced.

People always lament the fact that the Bulls don't have "stars" and that Chicago isn't a serious destination for marquee free agents.

But looking at this awful, depressing, soul-killing nothingburger of a trade... for now, I'm glad that the Bulls are taking it easy on this front.

Wiretap:
NBA players returned to a league-wide testing program over the past week, with testing beginning between Nov. 24-30 depending on the day that a player returned to the team’s market.

Of the 546 players tested for COVID-19 during this initial return-to-market testing phase, 48 have returned positive tests.

Anyone who has returned a confirmed positive test during this initial phase of testing in their team’s market is isolated until they are cleared for leaving isolation under the rules established by the NBA and the Players Association in accordance with CDC guidance.

Players will be tested on a daily basis throughout the season.

Holy crap! That's 1 in 10. Unbelievable.

Have all these guys been attending Otto's parties or what?

I see major trouble brewing for the NBA season.

It's possible they'll be a team, or a few teams that could have their season derailed if an outbreak occurs.

The NBA should allow more available roster spots for this exact reason.
