I take it Barnes looked better than his box score tonight?

But his general douchiness really stood out as well. He seems like a hot rod who really needs to mature. A year in a college with a good coach could help this IMO but he is going straight to G-League. He is a kid, I get that. And I think he is the best talent in 2021, but his flair comes off poorly to me.

I disagree with you 100%.

I personally love his attitude, and I would take him #1 in 2021.

Barnes was the guy outside the consensus top 5-6 that I was most excited to see - boy does he look amazing.

He’s got the mouth and ego to go with it. He can certainly pass and defend. Don’t know about his shot.

His length and activity is just unreal. Some team is going to do well taking him. Draymond/Rodman/Bam type vibes from him. Might not always look good but your team is going to win the game in the end. Plus he is going to put his imprint on your entire organization.

He likely won't go top 5 but he should go top 5.

he's not gonna be a 20ppg guy most likely but with his all around game he doesn't need to be, he can impact the game in many ways and doesn't necessarily need the ball to do so, and the playmaking at his size is a +

i usually shy away from the Draymond comps because he's such a unique player but I get them on some level here

Barnes is going to be a pretty polarizing player this year. Just like tonight's game, I wont be shocked if by the end of the year he doesnt have the prettiest numbers. So I think we will see a lot of people that will just look at his numbers and laugh at the idea of him being a top 10 pick.

Then you will have the people that actually watch him all saying, the dude is a surefire stud. It doesnt take long to watch him to say to yourself, "not sure the route he is going to take, but ya this dude is going to find ways to impact the game".

Yeah, especially with the big emphasis on shooting. Some fans will not want him to be the guy their team drafts in this draft. Not going to be a sexy prospect but IMO he is so obviously going to be a high level NBA player.

A couple of weeks ago Josh Giddey had his first preseason NBL game - 13/8/6 with 1 TO in 24 minutes. Not full NBL rosters and classic preseason rust by all, but he looked good.

Don't believe I've posted it here but I made a scouting video with the site I write for on him earlier this year for those interested (they also made one on Mojave King which I oversaw) -
