Paul George: Doc Rivers tried to use me like JJ Redick + made no playoff adjustments.

I meaaaan... no one is going to give Paul George the benefit of the doubt right now, and that's fair.

But a borderline top 10 player like that... playing that bad without a known injury, the coach does have to accept some of the blame. Paul George has played well against good teams in the playoffs before, and I don't see that his game has dropped off in any obvious way. He never looked great last year on the Clippers, and some % of that is how he was used. He's not wrong describing how Doc used him. Paul George is a very good shooter but not Ray Allen or JJ good, especially not out of that specific action. Paul George IS however: a 6'9 elite athlete with a sick pull up game... thought we rarely felt that last year.

Hoping PG bounces back next season and we get to see the Clippers we thought we'd see last year. If not, it's a bad look for everyone involved.

PG13 had his most efficient year ever in a clippers jersey. Shot a career best from 3. He is very wrong about blaming doc .

Stars blowing double digits leads and not scoring in the 4th isn't a coaching problem. The seem like we saying the stars good enough to get the lead but the coach was at fault for them not winning.

Clippers were up 3-1. Hard to say they was out coached.

Doc and PG have history that created communication and trust issues. PG never was able to get into a groove and Doc never let him play his game. I will never understand Doc’s love affair with Reddick, but it is real.

I understand that PG's skillset goes beyond running him off screens for 3s, but he is such a good volume 3 point shooter that it would be a mistake not to run several plays a game like that to free him up. I think he was right in saying the Clippers didn't make enough adjustments against Denver, but he is somewhat off base in the way he was used in that I don't remember a lot of pindown screens, etc. against Denver. He also should just focus on the coming year and stop making excuses. Errors were made by many involved- own up to them and figure out how to improve.

Doc is the most overrated coach there is.

No doubt. I hope Philly is his last chance to prove he's nothing more than a fraud. For years I've said that his 2008 championship was a product of an unprecedented collection of star talent combined with the best defensive assistant coach in the league at the time. His coaching had less to do with that title than people realize.

Agree. I think Thibs was a bigger part of that chip than Doc was considering Thibs was the "defensive coordinator" of that team and that was their identity.

And although Doc may be overrated, I think he's a better coach than Brett Brown so it's still an upgrade for Philly

Kawhi isn't vocal and as much as PG wants to act like a leader, a leader he is not. The organization has no culture and they thought they could get away with it by throwing a bunch of money at it. The Clippers are only good because they're in LA and Kawhi really wanted to be home but didn't want to answer to Lebron. This is what you get, a team that takes no responsibility and can't regulate itself. Still get a good chuckle that some claimed Lawrence Frank and his team were in conversation for a top tier front office.

Still, in this league, talent wins. So maybe they luck out.

They got him playing the SG role though. I would blame the GM for bringing in two elite SFs and making one play out of position. If anything they should play PG13 as a PF.

Again he likes PnR but only Lou could really run it. They need another guard who can run a PnR.

Also, you have a great scorer in Harrell but no strong defender paired with him to mitigate his flaws on defense. That's a GM thing.

Doc made mistakes and definitely should have played Zubac more but Doc didn't make PG13 forget how to shoot.

If PG13 was a role player like Redick then I could understand him complaining if being used improperly. But how can you be an elite star wing a complain about not being able to change it up because the your role wouldn't let you.

George Paul has been a walking contradiction and full of hypocrisy for years. I have very little belief there is anywhere in that interview he'll actually take full responsibility. Dude has proven to be a pretty spineless weasel. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Someone needs to shake PG. He doesn't seem to understand how he keeps setting himself up for failure.

It'd be one thing if he were just a guy bashing his old coach, but he's not just some guy, he's the superstar who called out another superstar (Lillard) and when that superstar fired back and back up his words on the court, PG really seemed rattled.

If you can't handle public criticism, best to avoid publicly criticizing. I believe PG is basically telling the truth here, but it only succeeds in making both he and Doc look bad.
