There is no way his heel stays off the ground and bounces up like that if it was a total tear. He caught himself with weight on it. When you tear your achilles, you've got a total flat tire. Your heel more or less just hangs and you don't have push like he did.

I'd be shocked if that's a full tear.

Should note that partial tears are FAR more painful and can still require the same surgery.

If true, WTF with all these achilles injuries in all sports lately? Is it overtraining, medicine, etc.? One of you internet doctors have to know a little something about this issue.

I've nothing to back this up, but part of me thinks it's the advances in sports technology as far as footwear is concerned. I tore mine wearing a very aggressive soleplate in soccer. Basketball shoes now offer far more traction than ever before. When you couple these things with quick, stop, start, explosive movements, you put more stress on your body.

Can fans start the campaign to end this farce that is one and done before we lose a legend to some BS game in Wichita?

He’s back in the game after being carried off the floor. Clearly he pooped himself.

Injury happened at 23 minutes, he played 26. He played more, he's hurt, but he didn't tear his achilles.

So, told ya'll. 8-)

Interesting point. I think it's also overtraining by training and playing hard all the time.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Seems odd that he returned after being in such pain. Give the kid a week or two off.
