1+1 deals really aren't risky for guys of Giannis and AD's stature at all though. KD still got the bag and he had pretty much the worst injury you can have nowadays (Achilles tear). Davis signed long term because LA is clearly where he always wanted to be and he's happy being Beta boys with Lebron.

Thats the most he could have got from the Lakers. He needed to sign the supermax with the Pels if he wanted more.

Thanks for the explanation. So how does that work with Giannis if he's traded or signs a 1+1 with another team next year? Not sure how the supermax works.

You're only eligible for the supermax if it's with the team that drafted you. He can sign the supermax and later ask to be traded (like we just saw with Westbrook/Wall) if he wants but if he just signs outright with another team, it would be significantly less money. If he signs a 1+1 with us, he could still get the supermax after that ends if he wants.

Wondering if we get a deal before this thread hits 100 pages.

Found it -- Bucks Media Day begins at 1pm CT, but no Giannis:

Based on the information that Bucks PR has released, we expect to hear from Coach Bud, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Torrey Craig, and D.J. Augustin. Curiously absent is MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has yet to sign the supermax, and historically has been an electromagnet for attention whenever reporters are around. Today, it seems, we’ll have to find some way to carry on without any bad dad jokes.

Makes sense, why would he be there when the only questions he would get are about his contract?

What are the chances he announces it today? Like casually in interviews.

They are doing media day all week with players doing interviews in groups starting today. Giannis will probably be in a different group this week. Nothing to worry about.

Y’all need to chill. He’s a private guy and likes to take his time. He has almost 3 weeks left to make a decision. Once we know we can go from there.

It appears he won't be doing interviews today so very low.

Horst probably doesn’t know he can offer the max to Giannis.

Is there a chance the Bucks are working on another deal to trade for Oladipo (even as a rental for 1 year)? Would DDV, some fillers and the 2021 1st do it? Perhaps Giannis has put that as a stipulation to sign the supermax deal after not getting Bogi.
