We'll see if anything changes in Bucks coverage if there are any (or even one) articles critical of the team or questioning any moves.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

There are some big stories out there.

-How did the Bogdan trade fall apart
-How is the front office operating under Lasry the past 18-months versus the prior two years under Edens
-Are the Bucks losing money with Covid, is that impacting luxury tax decisions

But the sports media operating protocols have shifted so hard here the past decade. The local guys simply write recaps and puff pieces, while being grateful for a paycheck. Meanwhile the league has created a quasi official press office (Woj/ESPN) to release the real day to day news.

The only way the paradigm changes is a super talented blogger type, who can get access to real information, and report it on it in a organized manner.

Read on Twitter

Packers beat writer and former OnMilwaukee sports writer takes over for Velazquez

Wasn't a fan of Jim, always wanted to get into it with fans that had anything critical to say about the team

I wouldn't expect any in depth coverage besides fluff pieces like what Giannis Mom likes to cook the Antetokounbros.

Won't be a headline story but I would love for someone to press Horst a bit about the Connaughton deal. If he does admit that an illegal offer was made, I want to know why we went from 1+1 at 8M to 2+1 at 16M. Why not just offer 2/9M (i.e. buy out his P.O. for an extra 1M) or 2+1/12.5 and let Pat walk if he doesn't like it?

You are bringing back the Save Our Bucks days of 2013. You had to handle a lot of crap from certain quarters back then.

For those that don't recall, we had a cabal of local internet media figures who absolutely hated SOB. We could never quite discern whether they were embarrassed that SOB was doing pieces they should have done years earlier, or if they all enjoyed the beautiful table top free seating they got behind the visitors bench at the Bradley Center.

Honestly not sure if that type of access even exists anymore. I know down here in OKC, we never hear anything because team officials pretty much refuse to talk to the local media aside from for the puff pieces. It's on lockdown, and I suspect most other franchises are realizing that offering that security to players and staff can be pretty appealing - especially since it's not like the local casual fans will stop supporting the team over it.

Well said. Agreed that Covid has prevented a lot of access. Almost a perfect storm to complete the transition of all team reporting over to Woj and Company.

I do miss Gery Woelfel being active and on WSSP. Sure he got some stuff wrong and did a lot of speculative pieces, but he'd be out there with stuff he got right as well.

Very happy for Jim. He is a friend of mine, and a really good dude. I'll certainly be in his ear more now than I was when he was on the Packers beat. :D

WSSP finally kicked Bill Michaels to the curb. Big Show moving to Middays and they'll announce a new afternoon show.

But now how will I know how many bowls of oatmeal Ty Summers had for breakfast?

Curious about this. I didn’t realize WSSP was his employer, I thought he was his own ‘network”, so as to get out of his non-compete clause years ago.

That could be and they just decided to drop his show. Regardless he's a pompous ass.

So they’re going to talk Brewers and Bears for 4 hours?

I really like ramie. Tim is really good too but it’s pulling teeth to get him to give a realistic opinion. I’m sure he thinks the brewers will win 90 games based on “hey anything is possible”.

Yeah Ramie is really good and Tim isn't totally insane (I mean he has insane Brewers takes but he won't drag a show completely off topic) so we should be able to hear more of Ramie's opinions instead of just trying to keep the show from driving off a cliff.

I would think Ramie and Tim will be a decent show, relatively speaking.
