All good. He kind of reminds me of Giannis lol.
I'll take Boogie Cousins.

He was my last cut, and he is still available. I'll take Daniel Theis.

Risk / Reward for sure. He's on a camp invite non-guaranteed. Likely has a good shot of making it since the Rockets are thin at center.

Yeah last year I took Whiteside and he turned into a top 50 player, pushing top 20 for a while too. I read a brief article that said Boogie was looking good. I think it helps (hopefully) to be playing with John Wall again plus I feel he gets a real good shot of being a starter.

Oh well.

No way. Thats the gamble of selecting rookies! You draft one, let them sit on your bench all season, and use one of your keeper spots to hold on hope that the next year might be the one for him. Thats the gamble. The risk of drafting a new player over someone in the twilight of their career. If the rookie pans out, you are set for years to come.
One other idea.
AFTER the rosters are full, we do a G league draft....and everyone selects a developmental player they cannot play that season...but for the next season they can either move him up to keeper and replace him on their G league team during the new G league draft, drop him and replace him in the new G league draft, or leave him in their G league if they still think he's better than anyone they could draft but not ready to take up a roster spot yet.
I think this could make things interesting and it would be a bit more like the NBA where teams usually have a few development players/raw rookies that don't really play and they either end up earning playing time in future years or dropped and replaced.

If we really want to get crazy with it we could do a supplemental draft and each team is allowed to roster 1 guy who's not in the league yet (college or euro). Then the following year you decide if you want to keep them as you're 8th guy or toss them back in the pool.bwgood77 wrote:Kerrsed wrote:Desertfox wrote:How about for next year, allowing teams to keep one rookie they drafted, that doesn't count towards the keeper limit?

That might be taking it a bit far though. Some guys already drafted take 2-3 years to contribute meaningfully at all. If you are drafting college players, it is even more of a crapshoot.
In this case we would already be having a regular draft where you could add rookies to your roster....and then could take flyers on raw guys that you like that you know won't contribute for a year or two.

Yeah it's definitely an extreme idea but would be kind of fun to have a guy like Cade Cunningham and follow him as a college player.bwgood77 wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:If we really want to get crazy with it we could do a supplemental draft and each team is allowed to roster 1 guy who's not in the league yet (college or euro). Like last year guys like cole anthony would have been picked high and then you'd be pissed as he struggled at UNC.
I'd guess year to year of the 16 picks like that only like 3-4 would actually get kept.
The potential downside would be the top of the redraft would be likely weaker.

Yeah, it takes away a lot of the hopefulness and team building concept of a rebuilding team if the 16 best prospects out there are taken before we even have a redraft each year. The #1 pick would just be the best non keeper probably which isn't much of a help to get better.
In my proposals you are likely taking late first or second rounders or a guy like Bol Bol or something...or maybe a guy currently buried on a depth chart somewhere.

Aren't you up ... I think DesertFox owned sunskerr 2nd round pick and you owned Kerrsed 2nd rounder.

I don't think I noticed that updated on the first page or in the subject.
Edit: I guess you are right...heck, would have made this pick almost 3 hours ago had the subject been updated or if I was alerted.

I was just looking at the spreadsheet. In the trade tabs DesertFox got sunskerr 2nd pick and chose Theis. Then you were up after that with Kerrsed pick.
