i'm actually really curious of our guard rotation.
at this point in his career i think rose is definitely a bench player. he can't run an offense/create for others and he's a bad defender so he'd get eaten alive vs. opposing starting guards. coming off the bench they'd need his ability to break down the defense a lot more.
delon wright is definitely a secondary (at best) ball handler in terms of running an offense but he can play both guard positions and has some years under his belt so he knows how to play. the thing is, he's only started 23 games (8%) in his career. he brings versatility but the reality is he isn't talented enough to be a starting guard unless you have a superstar wing to run the offense.
wayne ellington is the kind of guy i could see starting but only playing 14-18 mpg. he's a lights-out shooter, so even if he can't do anything else offensively he'll stretch the floor. he's also not a great defender but is a vet and can be relied on not to make mistakes that lead to blown rotations.
killian hayes obviously is the most important player for the pistons' future but it's hard to predict how international players will translate to the nba, especially immediately. given that he'll have like two weeks of training camp i think it's unlikely they start him right off the bat.
as for saben lee, i really like him as a second round flier but he's almost definitely going to get DNP's. i could see him getting into the rotation if rose or hayes get injured, or if rose gets traded.
i haven't even factored in svi or musa getting minutes at SG which they probably will given how many wings we have. this preseason is very intriguing because it's probably an audition for everyone on the team.
