Chriss shot 244 threes his rookie year. That blew me away when I looked it up. Now I don’t want him shooting that many, but he may surprise people a bit with some range.

If Wiseman doesn't beat out Chris for starting center...he's a bust.

I think that's nuts. You are casting away the career as a bust of one of the rawest prospects this incarnation of the team has had in a year when there is FAR less prep time than in a typical year.

He's still mad we didn't take Deni.

If Wiseman becomes a great outside shooter, he’s perennial All Star

But in there were also going to see flashes of talent at the C position that we haven’t had in forever, maybe where we don’t have to groan when we go up against a big front line and give up a string of possessions from offensive rebounds, maybe where we again have a backstop to stop the layup line when our perimeter defenders get beat.

Smallball is the latest flavor but a kickass center changes our team for the better more than any other position (barring PG which we have). Bogut changed everything about the Warriors just like Wiseman will. Don't come inside MFs, then lane is closed.

This may have already been posted. I kind of went WTF? I don't think I've seen these kind of handles on a center before.

Hope Wiseman will change the fade GSW started.

An idiot Whiteside made GSW midget ball teams look bad with all the OReb and dunks. I can't wait until Wiseman, having more skills, do the same to other teams.

"His activity, his energy, his basketball IQ -- you put him out there with Draymond Green, Steph Curry in a system that will feature him and allow him to shine," Hill said Wednesday morning on NBA TV. "There won't be a lot of attention or spotlight on him. Obviously Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Kelly Oubre, some of these other guys that are veterans and more experienced will be called upon.

"But his energy, his activity and his youth I think will allow him to come out and be effective."

I love him on defense," Hill said. "You can switch everything, play positionless basketball like we know Golden State really truly embraces. Wiseman is a great defensive player, a rim protector -- I think he can guard smalls on the perimeter.

"So, I like this pickup for them on both ends of the court."

"Is he gonna be a dominant player? I don't know right out the gate," Hill said. "I think he'll be a guy who can have an impact for a team with playoff aspirations."

That's TRUE! lol

But seriously....#2 pick....shows more skills off the court than Chris could....handles...for sure. I just think that a guy with all that apparently talent....legit 7'1"....should beat out Chris...who as much as we love his act...isn't a starting level player.

To say otherwise is to admit we just picked #2 on a 7' project. :(

It's unlikely to happen now anyway. He's missed every practice because of Covid protocol and he may not return until next week.

Of course he's a project, he played 3 college games and he's 19 years old. You can count on the fingers of one hand the number of guys who came into the league with that background and starred from day 1. Lebron and few others. That doesn't mean Wiseman can't contribute this year, it just means he has a lot to learn and several years before he approaches his peak.

I think in the next few season (Maybe not this season), I actually want to see him develop some serious handles for a 7' footer.

It'd be a pipedream to see him develop guard-like handles and mentality for a 7 footer (e.g., KD), but at least to be a big, strong, and fast 5 running on the break -- kind of what Shaq did early within his career with Orlando (Or even pre-NBA at LSU and in high school.). Maybe learn from Green on how to start a break and call plays like a guard when running down the court. We just need shooters to kcik it out to or slashers cutting to the basket when trying to contain Wiseman.

A clip of Shaq on a couple of fastbreaks.

"He needs to get infused into the system," Curry told 95.7 The Game's "Damon, Ratto and Kolsky." "He needs to get up to speed as fast as possible. He's just going to be a force, man. To the point of all the things we need to learn as fast as possible, I can't imagine for a 19-year-old to be able to ingest all that information, go out and play, but the things that he does well, you really can't teach. His size, his athleticism, his presence to protect the paint, the speed to run up and down the floor, put pressure on the rim, we can use that right away.

"So you're going to see a different player probably from Game 1 to Game 72, but early in the season he should be able to show what he's about and provide a lot of value for us on the interior and play Warrior basketball. So I'm excited, man. You can see the look in his eyes. He's chomping at the bit right now."
