I’m high on him but counting this season as a redshirt for him. He should be in Iowa full time with Nowell and learn to play team ball and gain weight. Dude is only 200lbs at 6’10.

They've said he can play both

If his shooting is legit in preseason, I could see him pushing Okoge and Culver if defense is passable

Today he had two impressive blocks, and then I realized why he had 1.4 BPG in college.

He is waaaaay longer than I thought he would look. If he can fill out his frame, he'll be a steal

Praying he is a future starting PF will
Also ease the sting of passing on Pokusevski.

He will be the future starting 4 for this team. 6’10 with a 7ft reach. This year will be a redshirt year for him as he needs at least 10-15lbs of muscle to his frame. He’s only 200 lbs but he’s a fluid athlete and has touch on his shot,

He will be our Jonathan Isaac.

Liked what I saw.

Only one pre-season game but he moved well and showed some defensive potential. Initially I expected him to spend the entire season in Iowa, but even with his lack of size he could be useful, interested to see how he goes the next two games.

So I just realized that I haven't really given much of my thoughts yet.

One of the things I liked from the first preseason game is his defensive activity. He wasn't stuck in cement. His feet seemed to be always moving. He might've been a little slow in recognition sometimes, but has the length and athleticism to make up for it. I like him better at the 4 though, not sure he should be chasing too many guys around ball screens.

It's funny how they seem to do a better job hitting on the later picks than the earlier ones.

Jaden seems ahead of where I would have thought. He looks really good, like could be a real player in a couple of years good. I'm always in favor of taking boom or bust guys after the top 10 picks or so. Edwards looks a lot more like a project compared to Daniels and I thought it would be the other way around.

Maybe it's another Wiggins/Lavine scenario.

He reminds me of Johnathan Isaac. I hope he continues to see opportunities.

We constantly talk about PF being our biggest weakness/hole, but we have a big hole at SF too. Okogie is better suited as a back up and Edwards lacks physicality and plays smaller than he is. Culver and Layman don't have it.

100% Jon Isaac type..

I'm more impressed by Jaden this game than any of Edwards game this season besides the Utah one, which is sad

Suns, Kings, Bucks have that same issue.

Obviously we aren't going to be the only ones to notice MCD's level of play shown. It's very rare for a Timberwolves rookie to show such a level already. Sure, a lot of this league ignores this team. But some of the teams our there have people watching. If Rosas starts getting offers for him, would you kick Rosas in the teeth if he uses him in a trade now? Say he has a couple more major showings in the next few games that seem to confirm his level of player. Is he in hands-off territory already?

Need to see more before I make that decision..he looks so damn promising...great shot blocking instincts, pure stroke at 6'10(nobody blocking that shot), speed for his size..we were told he needs to put on any weight, but he was guarding Aaron Gordon real well who looks like a part-time body builder

I have, however, seen enough of Ant to pray he has a good string of games and we trade him along with a bigger contract for someone who can help us for the second half of the season when we have to play 36 more games. He just doesn't know how to play without the ball and doesn't do anything besides score and throw a nice left handed pass (Hope i'm wrong but he just doesn't look like a hooper)

True. I do wonder if some of it is with late picks they are more reliant on their scouting and analysis, while high lottery the influence of mocks and all the articles and analysis of others is harder to ignore.

harder to ignore? It's a good point. But ignoring something is but a choice for our PoBO/GM to make. Need to stop being dumb early round drafters. Ant gonna put up fitty now soon just to tease us about greatness and rub our noses in our posts.
