That’s different than saying “trade me to Brooklyn” give the Rockets more options and I could see him being moved. I can also see them compromising and then requesting a year to be more competitive or they ship him out

Not for nothing the League might have to suspend him for the season.

All I know is that if the KNICKS had KD off Achilles, KI off whatever it is he's doing, and Harden off a Rocket implosion, that would DEFINITELY fail lol.

Harden doubling down...who blinks first...is he really going to throw away 40 MM this year?

the player always wins in these type of things. even if comes back and plays, he'll make it toxic. he'll be gone before the end of the year.

this is unprecedented thought a player with 2 years left if trying to strong hold the team. Usually a player has the leverage to leave at the end of the year.

I think at least HOU is saying we will trade you but you can't make it Brooklyn or nowhere. You have to at least give us a few teams to negotiation with.

he can opt out after next year. you'll get a better package if you do it this year. you wait until next year and teams will be told by his people that he won't re-sign with you. i don't know that it's brooklyn but he'll end up somewhere.

I think the point is they at least need Harden to open up his teams he would be willing to go to.

I could absolutely see HOU playing hardball if he says Brooklyn and thats it. He doesn't have the leverage to pick only one team. Unless he is willing to leave $85 MM on the table...which I doubt someone has to pay for the stripper habit.

Isn’t that what AD did to the Pelicans? Pretty sure he was strong holding the Pelicans last season and he wasn’t a free agent until this free agency.

AD had an opt out the next year.

Harden has this year guaranteed
Harden has next year guaranteed

then

He has an opt out

So HOU has this year and next year of control. AD only had 1 year of control which is more leverage.
