And Mobley looks just like Chris Bosh did in college. I think in this draft, Cunningham, Green, Boston and Mobley are all franchise players.

I know it is super early in the year, but Boston is 0-11 from three point range through 3 games. Also, Kentucky is 1-2 thus far including a loss to Richmond. Boston has shot only 40% from field so far on a lot of shots.

I'm not worried, his form and release are so good. He does have defensive concerns though. He looks a lot like Ingram

Mobley is going to be what people thought Wiseman was last year. Long, athlethic, and with elite feel/good skill.

I'm a little worried about his frame but dude is special.

Here is a look at the somewhat future of who I will like. I say somewhat because most of these players are active now
but haven't quite made a name yet but I think they could.

So many guys I like this year,

and next year in - Caleb Houstan, Chet Holmgran, Carter Whitt, Kenneth Simpson, and Angelo Brizzi just to name a few.

Jalen Warley - He reminds me of Devin Booker and Killian Hayes. I can't decide if I want to call him Killian Booker or Devin Hayes. Either way I have narrowed it down to those names 2 lol. Its hard to change a name. I had to hire a moving company to help rearange those names. Good thing they gave me a discount because they are friends of the family lol. Sucks that hes going to a rival like florida state tho. I think he has a good amount of potential. Most people like Hunter Sallis, (who I am a fan of as well) but Warley has me more intruiged.

Adam Miller - Adam wont totally break out this year but I look for him to have a HUGE sophmore season. He is so basic. Even down to the name. ADAM MILLER lol. Even his jersey number 44. Just a regular Joe. But dude is a stud. He will more than likely be at my leader board after Ayo, Bouknight and David Duke are gone.

Toumani Camara - He is enough athleticism to keep you honest. What I mean by that is you will like his game for more than
just the athleticism. What I don't like about his game is no real position or a tad bit undersided for the 4. But he's intruiging enough for me to see if he develops. He doesn't shoot it well but I like that. I often root for players that do it all but he doesn't do anything obvious so what has me curious is will he develop without the obvious.

Although this draft is still missing something I have found a lot of favorites. My favorite players are

PG - Jared Butler, Jason Preston, Scotty Pippen JR, Ty Berry, Caleb Murpy

SG - Ayo Dosunmu, James Bouknight, David Duke, Adam Miller

SF - Both Gache, Aaron Wiggins, Toumani Camara, Jabri Abdur-Rahim

PF - Trendon Watford, Jeramiah robinson-earl, Brady Manek, Dawson Garcia

C - Azuolas Tubelis, Xavier Foster,

-----
Caleb Murphy is a player who I really want to see how he develops. He has become a real favorite of mine.
The potential is there but you can see things he needs to improve on like missed easy layups. But I like his game a lot.
Something fun about his game.

If Ronaldo Segu goes undrafted I would LOVE to invite him to camp. Especially if we are gonna move Graham or Rozier. I want either Segu, Moses Wright or Brady Manek if they go undrafted. Segu is such a fun player even tho he is not really fun at all.

I forgot to post these two players earlier. For the most part I have finished evaluating the players I am targeting. I will of course trim the list but these are pretty much all of the players. As you can see we have some GREAT options guys. One thing is for sure I have never seen a draft with so many PG's that I love. DJ Carton is so my type of player. I also like Andre Jackson for next year. DJ has a shot at the pros this year more than likely but Andre probably not until next year. I never seen a draft with so many PG's that I like GEEEEESH. I didn't even include Cade or Suggs lol.

PG -
Jared Butler, Jason Preston, Scotty Pippen JR, Tre Mann, Ty Berry, Arturs Zagars,
Caleb Murphy, Nimari Barnett, Ronaldo Segu, DJ Carton

SG -
Ayo Dosunmu, James Bouknight, David Duke, Adam Miller, Jalen Green,
Keyontae Johnson, Macio Teague, Moses Moody,

SF -
Both Gache, Jalen Johnson, Aaron Wiggins, Colby Jones, Toumani Camara,
Trey Murphy, Andre Jackson, Jabri Abdur-Rahim,

PF -
Trendon Watford, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Chris Smith,
Amar Sylla, Brady Manek, Coleman Hawkins, Dawson Garcia

C -
Evan Mobley, Azuolas Tubelis, Xavier Foster, Drew Timme, Kai Jones,
Jericho Sims, Will Baker, Moses Wright

DJ Carton

Andre Jackson

James Bouknight is a unique player for sure. He is mainly wired to score the ball, but he does not have the ball in his hands a ton. His game reminds me the way shooting guards played in the early 2000's. Now shooting guards are mainly big point guards or 3D wings and he does not really fit into either mold.

Bouknight is not overly big, overly athletic or overly a great shooter, but he checks each box just enough. His athleticism is a bit sneaky and when mixed with his length he gives me some shades of Jeremy Lamb. He screams UCONN guard of just being a bucket getter, but outside of Kemba those guys have not transferred into the league great.

Players he reminds me of Rip Hamilton, Jeremy Lamb, Marshonn Brooks, Kevin Martin, a super super lite Kobe, and Alec Burks.

Biggest thing with me right now is where does he fit into the current NBA, does he have a role? Will he be an efficient scorer? I know UNCNYC has compared him to Brandon Roy, but Roy was a far better playmaker and you could trust him to be the Psedu-point guard for the team and Bouknight is not that player averaging 1.3 assists for his career.

I would say as of now he is best suited for a 6th man type role, so it would be hard for me to spend a top 10 pick on him.

I actually agree with most of what you said here. great evaluation (I wouldn't expect anything less from you).
Roy (who I was a big fan of) was a very unique and special player. Difference between him and bouknight is Roy was more able to play PG and SG and bouknight plays off the ball.

But in a half court set I do see similarities between the two's games. Both had great first steps and similar styles
getting their shot off.

I also agree in that Bouknight has an older game which may or may not fit well into todays league. I think he will adapt tho.

I actually do not think he or any player in this draft has the ability to become a franchise changing player.
(which almost never really happens anyways). People tend to forget that the LARGE majority of players who get drafted
are going to BUST. If Bouknight becomes a slightly more than serviceble player it will be a good investment.
We are EXREMELY lucky if he becomes a near alstar and we have won the LOTTERY if he actually became an alstar.
If you are lucky enough to draft at the minimum a player on the level of a Rozier then that is good
work as a GM because most of the players you draft will be on the level of a
Bacon or a Monk or an MKG or a Sean May or a Adam Morrison etc...
If you are able to draft a player that can solidify a spot and your worries about filling that spot are no longer of need you have done a good job. Then if you are fortunate enough to land that STAR he has a nice solid foundation of players to win with.

I think Bouknight can at least give us what Rozier does and imo has the potential to deliver more. Not many OBVIOUS options
better in this draft imo. I like all of Ayo, Bouknight, DUKE and Adam Millers games as well. BTW I am not saying Bouknight will be on the level of a star in the league, I am just saying he would be one of the FEW players I would draft in this years draft. Bouknight was a 75th or so ranked high school player so the fact that he's in the discussion of a lottery pick early in season 2 after coming off the bench season 1 says a lot.

Hopefully he keeps impressing and does become a star and who knows maybe a star for US :).

The more I look at this draft, the more I feel meh about it. Do not get me wrong, there are some really solid players in the draft, but I don't think it boasts multiple superstars by any means.

1. Cade Cunningham- really solid, smooth, can do a bit of everything. Reminds me a bit of Evan Turner when he was a Ohio State- given Turner did not really become a star until his sophomore season. Turner did not workout in League and I am not trying to make that parallel, more so just looking at college gameplay. NBA comp is Brandon Roy in my mind, which is a great player, but not a LeBron, Zion, Davis, Ben Simmons type talent especially athletically.

2. Jalen Green- Really bouncy, good size. Shown the ability to get his own shot off bounce and has a lot of lift on shot. Not sure he makes others better and has yet to do much defensively. Closest thing to him in the NBA right now is Zach Lavine. If he is a better leader and higher IQ player he could be a winning Lavine- which would be worth a top 5 pick. Think going to the GLeague was easy way out for him and think he will regret that decision.

3. Evan Mobley- skilled big, but looks a bit uncoordinated at times like a baby deer. His hips are a bit stiff and have yet to see him really get fired up and take over a game. Reminds me of a less fluid Jaren Jackson Jr. and I wonder if he has the want to to bang with the big men in the NBA too. He is still really young, so he could grow into body still, but as of now he isn't a game changing talent in my eyes.

4. Jalen Suggs- plays a lot like Cade Cunningham, not many weaknesses. Smaller and slighly less athletic version of Cunningham is a good player. Jrue Holiday is the best comp I see to a current NBA player in his ability to play at his own pace and have good size at PG. Makes the right plays, but isn't crazy flashy while doing it. He has a lot of talent around him at Gonzaga which is opposite of Cade at OKST.

After that you have a bunch of other solid wings with size in Zaire Williams, BJ Boston, Jalen Johnson, Jonathan Kuminga, Keon Johnson and Scottie Barnes. None of these guys are worth a top 2 pick in any draft really, but they do a great job of giving this draft depth. Wouldn't be shocked if one or two really pop at the next level, but also wouldn't be shocked if 2-3 of them bust. Seems like the type of group that Orlando and Milwaukee would drool over with size/length/athleticism combos.

Guys will pop as season goes on, but just like every other draft I think it will be difficult to look back in 5 years and find many guys taken outside of the lottery that are difference makers (every draft usually has 2-5). In conclusion, I do not think draft is incredible strong in top 3, nor in 15-25, however I think teams drafting 5-12 will be happy with their options compared to some drafts.

Tomorrow is a great way to guage some of the players in this draft. Illinois plays Duke.

Jalen Johnson VS Ayo Dosunmu and Adam Miller 9:30 ESPN TOMORROW. Adam Miller is legit.

I think Adam Miller is the best freshman in the country.

My top 5 freshman are

Adam Miller - He goes head to head with Jalen Johnson tonight, ESPN - 9:30
Ty Berry
Moses Moody
Azuolas Tubelis
Dawson Garcia

I also like - Andre Jackson, Xavier Foster, Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Colby Jones, Caleb Murphy, and Reece Beekman.

I think Cameron Thomas and Dain Dainja are good but they are not the style of player I usually like.

I think Moses Moody could be a top 5 pick. He is really, really good. He's the best basketball player to play for Arkansas in a long time.

Tonight is a big night in helping me decide who I want out of these 4

Ayo Dosumnu, James Bouknight, Adam Miller, David Duke. I have them all tied with who I want to draft.

Duke plays Illinois at 9:30 ESPN. I wonder if Ayo and Adam will outshine Jalen Johnson tonight.

I also want to add two other players who I am on the fence with in Jalen Wilson and Jaden Shackelford. I doubt I would draft either but they keep impressing me lol.

Wow Max Abmas is a PG that deserves some consideration. He nearly had a 3 double against Cade. I spent a little time wondering if I should include him as a pick but decided to pass. I will add him to the list of players we could draft but I see no real need too since PG is a position we are so deep at.

PG 1 - Jared Butler, Jason Preston, Cade Cunningham,
PG 2 - Scotty Pippen JR, Tre Mann, Ty Berry, Arturs Zagars, Caleb Murphy, Nimari Barnett, Ronaldo Segu, DJ Carton, Max Abmas

and I actually am leaving out a lot because I barely researched PG's due to us not needing one smh wow PG loaded draft.

After most of my research I am pretty much back at square one with most of the guys I came into this season liking from last season.

Last night answered a lot of questions. Before the night started I had Ayo Dosunmu, James Bouknight, David Duke, Adam Miller
in as who I think we should consider as SG. I walked away still HIGHLY impressed with Ayo. Ayo imo is the best player
in college basketball.

Miller is still young and will probably factor more next year. As of now I wont consider him and have narrowed that down to
Ayo Dosunmu, James Bouknight, David Duke.

I am tied with who to choose between Bouknight and Duke. I am slightly leaning towards Duke because he is a combo guard.

Players I have been disappointed with are Ziarre Williams, Jalen Johnson,

I am so so with are Brandon Boston and scottie barnes.

I like Mobley but not sure if I would take him over Tubelis.

--------------------
These are the players I am considering. The list isn't as long as it seems. The first line are players I think are 1st round
talents. The 2nd line players are just in consideration for 2nd round. They are listed in order of best to worst imo.

PG 1 - Jared Butler, Jason Preston, Cade Cunningham,
PG 2 - Scotty Pippen JR, Ty Berry, DJ Carton, Tre Mann, Max Abmas, Arturs Zagars, Caleb Murphy, Nimari Barnett, Ronaldo Segu,

SG 1 - Ayo Dosunmu, David Duke, James Bouknight, Jalen Green,
SG 2 - Keyontae Johnson, Adam Miller, BJ Boston JR., Macio Teague, Moses Moody, Cameron Thomas, Jaden Shackelford

SF 1 - Both Gache, Aaron Wiggins, Jalen Wilson,
SF 2 - Ziaire Williams, Toumani Camara, Trey Murphy, Andre Jackson, Colby Jones, Jabri Abdur-Rahim,
Derrick Alston Jr., Malcolm Cazalon, Jalen Johnson,

PF 1 - Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Trendon Watford,
PF 2 - Trayce Jackson-Davis, Dawson Garcia, Chris Smith, Amar Sylla, Brady Manek, Coleman Hawkins,

C 1 - Azuolas Tubelis, Evan Mobley,
C 2 - Xavier Foster, Drew Timme, Kai Jones, Jericho Sims, Will Baker, Derek Culver, Charles Bassey, Kofi Cockburn,
Makur Maker, Moses Wright

Not to be an a$$hole or anything UNCNYC bc I see you and your vision. However, dropping all of these fringe first rounders/second round gems over guys like Cunningham and Mobley, much the way you had similar prospects over top-5 prospects this past year is silly.

Is there a way we can start a separate thread for mid-late first rounders and/or Draft Gems that you can post in, and then leave the 2021 Draft thread for other talk that is more realistic?

Again, I feel you as an NFL draft/prospect nerd myself, I love analyzing and diving down rabbit holes of potential prospects. However, I would never rank Jalen Hurts over Joe Burrow for the #1 overall pick or Yetur Gross-Matos over Chase Young.

IDK, maybe I'm just that old guy telling kids to get off his lawn......
