Way too early NBA draft thread 2021

Post#1 » by Drgaliza2 » Wed Dec 9, 2020 3:04 am

If we manage to get 3rd pick and below in the draft.. we pick evan mobley. This dude can do it all

Pg coby white
Sg zach lavine
Sf wendell carter jr - i felt like hes too small to be the center and pf. let me explain why later
Pf laurie markannen
C evan mobley

Wendel carter height is 6’9 which is a good height for a sf. He is a good defender and quick to hes feet now compared before. Hes has a decent 3pt shot and mid range shots. He is a good passer as well. Hes a good pick and roll defender and excellent blocker.

Thats is why you add mobley in the mix as your primary center. Who can go offense defense. 3pt shot, post move.athletic lobs.

Now we can mix and match depending on opponents.
Markannen as Sf offensively and switch defensively in certain matchups.

Who do you guys pick at 3rd rnd?

I think the Bulls are actually going to start hot considering they haven't played in 9 months, are young, and Billy is going to play the core to help develop them. I actually see the Bulls making the playoffs.

I’d be curious as to how many minutes of basketball you’ve watched WCJ play if you think he can play small forward.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong

I know it sounds crazy to play him as sf.. but as you can see hes not slow as you think. Hes a versatile big. He hits 3s.. hes a good passer, 41% 3pt in college (he just have bad luck injury but in all honesty i felt like they just wanted that lottery pick). Hes a good defender.. he is athletic, hes faster than you think he is. I think I read somewhere that he wants to move to pf position.. hes just too small to be center.. but i believe he is better if he play sf.. he can improve his lateral quickness.. he dont have to be super fast athletic sf.. just a 3 and D. And only if we get mobley.. just my opinion

Its college vid but it shows that he loves defence and really good at it and he can still improve..

As you can see hes not that bad at pick and roll defense and can guard point guards a bit.. i felt like hes better defender if he is in sf position and can improve better (be consistent) rather than center mainly because of his size and vs powerful centers (embiid, ayton, kat etc). I know we picked williams for sf but I think if we get lucky and get 3rd rnd pick we choose mobley and put carter to sf. Unless we trade either carter or laurie. I just felt like carter has potential to be good defensively for the bulls.. Maybe carter as pf and trade laurie if we get mobley.

Williams, carter, mobley in defence..

I was ready to board the Mobley crue and excited to compare him against transcendent NCAA seasons like Zion's and AD's, but I think this post ruined him for me.

Cade #1
Green #2

It's too early to know who we'd take at #3. We haven't even seen some of these prospects play yet. I'm sure some of them will standout after a full season of play.

I think the Bulls are making the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed, so I doubt we will see the lottery in 2021.

Friendly reminder that other top prospects in G-league such as Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga haven't played yet. This class is really loaded with talented prospects.

I think at this point Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley seperate themselves for the top pick competition which means we will still have Jalen Suggs, Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga for the 3rd spot.

It's too early but if the Bulls happen to select the 3rd pick my choice will be one of Suggs or Green.

Suggs is really fun to watch and he has great vision to support current young cores. He can be Jamal Murray with better vision and defense.

Green has glaring upside IMO because of his pure athleicism and shot-creation potential so if you take BPA he will be the choice.

Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Johnson, and BJ Boston are the main guys I have my eyes on. Jalen Suggs is up there too.

Suggs and Cunningham both look like guys who can lead an NBA offense which is easily our most desperate need. Both have decent size too for defense. So they've pretty much got to be on top of our board. Cunningham gets the edge though because he has legit SF size and the valuable versatility that comes with that.

Mobley looks like a stud big man prospect. We'd still have a gaping hole for a playmaker if we take Mobley though.

Those are the only 3 elite prospects right now (G-League dudes to be determined).

Of the rest, I like Keon Johnson. Freakish athlete which brings with it a lot of upside. He also plays like a dog which we basically have zero of on the current team.

Josh Giddey also one I'd love to snag with a later 1st. Tall with PG skills.

If you think Wendell Carter has the footspeed/quickness to play the 3 full time in the modern NBA I'd recommend watching more NBA games before you even try to evaluate rookie prospects for the 2021 draft. I don't think Wendell Carter could have played SF 15 years ago let alone today.

If we end up with our 7-10 range Garuba is already player we wanted Carter to be, Scottie Barnes is Siakam with feel for the game. 10-14 range Roko Prkacin is similar to Jabari Parker but with motor and defence, but probably 2 years away from real contribution. If we get top 3 pick Cade or Suggs are non brainers, if we end up trading Zach Lavine, Jalen Green is already Lavine on steroids.

I think I'm taking pretty much all the UK off the board for our first pick. Choosing to go to UK in the first place is questionable basketball IQ. Maybe if we get a 2nd first, you give Boston/Clarke a look.

Keon Johnson is one to keep an eye on. He'd be our best perimeter defender from day 1. He's a truly freakish athlete. Has flashed some guard skills, but he's raw there. Definitely going to be a developmental player when it comes to his shot. He has a crazy high motor. Looks to me like a prospect with actual superstar upside.

Mark me down as a James Bouknight fan. Smooth and crafty scorer.

We need to tank hard for a top pick and then trade for a second pick with which to take Keon Johnson.

Definitely need to take any dumb/lazy players off our board. We've seen how tough it is to play with those guys. Jalen Green is kind of a mindless scorer, no? Maybe stay away from that one. Don't touch the Kentucky guys either.

Suggs or Cade are the dream. Both heady players. Mobley the other top prospect right now.
