I’d also love to get a dynamic return specialist. Peppers has the ability to make plays as a punt returner but getting a dynamic returner would allow him to not need to be thrown back there. I swear we have had like one return get beyond the 25 yard line on kick off returns. Hell, most of the kicks we take out are lucky to get back to the 20

yeah my guess would be you go edge rusher with the 1st pick and WR in round 2 unless a big time WR drops which is a possibility. Obviously if the giants are in a position to draft a Ceedee Lamb who dropped type in round 1 for dallas you do it.

But edge rush and legit #1 WR would be and ideal scenario.

I would like a #2 type corner but yiadam has been solid.

Devonta Smith from Alabama would be amazing. We will probably be out of the Jamar Chase sweepstakes. I like a lot of WRs in this draft. It would be great if we could get an edge and WR in round 2.

My ideal situation would be edge/WR in round one and two regardless of which comes first and grab a solid CB2 in Free Agency. I think we should have a ton of money to play around with this year actually.

It would be massive to have QB, RB, top 2 WRs, both LT and RT, possibly both guard positions (if Hernandez and Lemieux can play LG and RG), and several contributors on defense all on rookie contracts. That would allow a lot of money to be pumped into impact positions.

well we wont have that much money because Nate Soldier is going to hit our books again and we are going to have to pay Leonard Williams big bucks.

You can always move around money but the Soldier dead cap is going to be annoying.

Solder will hit us at around $6M, which does suck.

I would have to think Zeitler and Tate are gone. We will reinvest part of that in Williams and then the rest will be for FAs

If I'm not mistaken when soldier opted out (for covid) his contract is frozen so he will actually have a 13.5 million dead cap if we cut him with is horrendous...unless we wait post June 1st to cut him which is way after FA basically will start and the season is about to begin so its not like we will be able to withhold that money to sign anyone.

Soldier contract is ass.

Zeitler and Tate are both def gone as they have smallish dead cap money. I don't think they are going to Soldier with that high cap hit unless its after June 1 and they basically use that savings to go into the season with because teams like to have cash during the year for pickups.

I think if we designate him as a post June 1st transaction, we'll be charged ~ $6M in dead money against the 2021 cap and $4M in dead money against the 2022 cap.

correct but its not really advantageous to designate as a post june 1 cut because the money wont be freed up to use in FA basically but its way before the June 1 cut date. So it does save the giants money but the post June 1 cut basically is more in use during the season spending or next year freeing up. You really want to have pre-june 1 cuts to effect next year cap #'s.

Yea, it's not ideal, but $10M will be freed up after June 1st.

yup but unless there is a FA still out there you desperately need the cap freed up during the year it may be better to just keep him as insurance incase Thomas or Peart get hurt. Its not like tackles just grow on trees even though he has been horrible here.

If they need the 10 MM post June 1...sure cut him...but its not like there are FA usually sitting around that late...unless there is a Logan Ryan type situation...which in that case agree, cut him.

for sure but I want this team to keep the peddle on the metal. With Washington right on there tails they need to continue to be laser focused and winning again this week. Giants keep winning they will make it.

They still have to travel to San Fran on a short week. When we play the cardinals at home (giants playing much better than cardinals)

I still like our chances at home vs cardinals then the skins on the road in san fran.

8-8 will def get us in
7-9 is like a 50-50 toss up right now.

I still don't trust the skins and alex smith to win 3 out of 4 games.

I hate the fact that they are hot like us in terms of momentum. Alex Smith really stabilized that team.

ZAVEN COLLINS YALL ZAVEN COLLINS.

But about Solder, I think he retires. His son's health has been taking a big-time toll on him, and he might just be better served spending time with him.

Yep I think I mentioned him a page back. He’s a monster. I have watched a good amount of Tulsa because they get a good amount of air time where I’m at. He’s a stud. Seems to make the biggest play of the game every single week. 6’4 260 lb LB who can cover, rush the passer, make plays sideline to sideline, etc. Giving Graham someone like that would be ridiculous. I’m scared he goes before we pick now. He’s been getting really hyped the last 2 months and seems to continue to one up himself week by week

If they are really interested in Oweh, they have a TON of faith in their development staff. Dude is a freak, but he's raw.
