So Looney and Wiggins for Harden? Deal

(Works on trade checkers but salaries dont match?)

It works because the Warriors can take back 125% of the salary they send out. Sending out Wiggins and Looney means they can take back $42.9M, which is enough to cover Harden's salary. Personally, I still wouldn't do it.

Got it, I saw the training camp videos and comments and I wouldn't do it either. I want to see what this team can do

So, the Houston guy seems to say that Wiggins and Wiseman was the Warriors offer...

The other guy, who’s not with Houston, says the Warriors aren’t offering any of their core 3 or Wiseman. He’s saying it’s Wiggins, young guys, plus a bunch of picks/swaps(I’m assuming the Minny pick would be one of those). The Warriors aren’t getting any elite player via trade without including Wiseman and the Minny pick though...Those are the only 2 high value assets outside of Curry/Klay/Dray. The rest of the roster has very little, if any, value around the league.

If I had to *guess* I think Harden winds up with the Clippers, Sixers, or Boston.

I can see Boston or the Sixers but what could the Clippers offer? PG is on an expiring contract and would not be of value without an extension.

Not sure what the Clippers would offer. If PG13 was willing to sign an extension with Houston, I could see that being attractive if the Rockets don’t want to go full rebuild. They wouldn’t be a legit contender but they are probably in the playoff mix. That might be good enough for the Rockets owner.

Philly can make the best offer if they put Simmons on the table. The Warriors offer is probably right behind that if they put Wiseman and the Minny pick on the table(which I doubt the Warriors do at this point).

If Philly or the Warriors are unwilling to push their chips in for Harden, then Boston with a Brown/Smart package might get it done? I dunno....I’m genuinely curious as to how this plays out.

I would think they wouldn't want him in the West.

From Ryen Rusillo:

“Also, extra nugget PJ Tucker wants out. I can't imagine he wants to stay there. Maybe PJ Tuckers' part of a deal, flip somewhere else, or maybe he'll be in some kind of transaction."

So, the Clippers are one of the teams that wants Harden.

Here’s my never-going-to-happen 3 way trade:

GSW in: Paul George and PJ Tucker
GSW out: Wiggins, Looney, Smailagic, 21 MN pick

Houston in: Wiggins, Zubac, Looney, Kennard, Lou Williams, 21 MN pick, whatever picks LAC can throw in.
Houston out: Harden and Tucker

LAC in: Harden, Smailagic
LAC out: PG13, Kennard, Zubac, Lou Williams, picks

Warriors lineup post-trade: Curry/Oubre/PG13/Draymond/Wiseman

Next years lineup: Curry/Klay/PG13/Draymond/Wiseman...Oubre in 6th man Iguodala role.

Please don’t trade my Minny pick for Paul George. The player drafted could end up being more impactful than Paul George long term.

I think Paul George would come alive here. Perfect buy low opportunity imo.

I would hate giving the LAC Harden though...Kawhi and Harden together would be brutal to deal with.

I don't think Wiggins, Looney, Smailagic, a possible #4 pick in a deep draft, and $73M is buying low, particularly for a player with a history of losing when it hurts most.

Me too. I think PG would fit well with us.

The only thing that would hurt about that trade is losing the Minny pick...and I really like that Minny pick.

This proposal is a “win now” type move that allows the Warriors to keep Wiseman.

The “be patient” route is also something that attracts me...but you most likely don’t win another title with the patient route. Trade offs for sure.

PG13 just signed an extension with LAC. I wonder if Kawhi will follow.

I’m really interested to see where Harden winds up. With Kawhi and AD, they had their sights set on 1 team in particular. Harden is open to multiple contenders....things could get interesting.

I heard Miami really wants him fwiw.

Clippers extended PG to 100% trade him. No way they keep him with that money on the team, they did it to Blake before They are trying to prep an offer for Harden

Apparently they can’t trade Paul George this season now...I could see them exploring it in the offseason though if things don’t work out in Clipperland this year.

Even better. PG plays like an Allstar even when he is 31, re ups his trade value and gets dumped in the offseason to a stupid team. In this case it might be Houston. He for sure going to have the worst contract very soon if he plays like he did the past 2 years

Houston is trying to get rid of Tucker or unwilling to extend him.

Would you trade KO for him?

Tucker can guard 2-4, maybe 2-5. He's guarded Steph in the past but I think the big 4th quarter Steph had in the playoffs vs. Houston in 2019 was against him.

But maybe he's the solution to trying to match up vs. Lebron and Kawhi?

I would say trade for Wiggins but I don't think Houston wants to take on big contracts.

The problem with Tucker is it would likely be only a rental. He's probably looking for a multiyear deal and he's already 35.

Maybe by the trade deadline, they will have some better idea of how Klay's rehab is going and then can look at making trade dealings which have longer term implications for the team.

No thanks. Not for KO.

But if Harden gets traded and they look bad maybe he gets waived and comes here for DPE. We're going to have to look better (playoof hunt) for anyone to consider coming here though.

Something tells me this season will be great for firing up the trade machine lol.
